  4. some of the most bravest mena and womean i can possible imagine. They sacrifice everything so that i have a life of freedom and dont have to worry about fear and opression. My cousin in the us navy is very special to me and i thank god everyday for the sacrifice that he has made. These mena and women are doing something that no many even think to do unless forced and they have the most respect that i can possibly give them. i may not want or think war is good in any way shape or form but im proud that there are those willing to fight for the lives of others. Never have i ever felt more protected then tnen the day i saw them march home on long island or seen a soldiers welcome home banner off a bridge.

  8. The troops landed in England, ready to take on the world. What they realized is that the world was ready for them too. Fortunately, they were all so young that the impact of what was about to befall them would never truly be felt. Would it ever change them? Probably in some way, but not in others.

  13. Currently, President Obama has ordered more troops to go to Afghanistan. I hope this doesn’t affect my cousin. He’s in the national guard. He just got back from Afghanistan a month or so ago, and last week, he proposed to his longtime girlfriend. It’ll be very sad if he is forced to go back. I don’t understand where these 300,000 troops are supposed to come from.

  14. the troops were tired so were we. We had traveled 17 hours only to get to the Grand Canyon after sunset. The drive was beautiful as the sun was setting but mom and I knew we would be too late and that we would have to turn north without seeing the canyon. The troops will not be happy.

  18. Troops are a big cloud in everyone’s minds. We want what they can do, but we don’t want the risk. Troops coming home or troops deploying. Troops are the big thing now…

  19. The troops marched out in an almost orderly fashion; one soldier in the middle of the front line was swaying slightly, having tucked a bottle of drink in his front pocket. He would occasionally sneak sips from it, then slur obscenities about the enemies to his fellow soldiers.

  21. The troops stumbled forward through the high reads. One of the youngest of them swiped at his brow to remove the dampness that gathered there and he squinted to see through the morning mist.

    Kim
  22. Troops. My friend Zach, he’s part of the troops. He’s 19 and he has grown up too fast. Too fast because he’s part of the ‘troops’. Our troops need to come home and be young again.

  23. the troops march one by one, down the halls, weapons in hand, fighting off fatal looks and even deathlier words, we are the brave young soldiers facing the worst four years in this battle field they call high school

  24. Thr troops are waiting for help. Will we help them or leave them alone snd scared? We’ve waited to hear what Obama will do and finally he decided to send more troops. I am sure the troops are relived to know help is on the way.

  25. They marched out to the field, grass wet beneath their feet. They moved in line, organized and ready. Waiting for what they knew lay ahead. The general shouts his words of courage. They charge.

  26. Support our troops! America needs to understand the most important word during war and that is support. Support our government, support our military and support our troops. Mention what you want changed but do not bring down the moral of those working so hard and sacrificing so much for us!

    Nic

  29. There’s a letter writing thing at my dorm tomorrow night – to write letters to soldiers overseas. We’ll mail it with candy. I love folding these little paper turtles. And I want to include them. Turtles represent peace, I want it to bring them peace. Because we could all use some peace.

  30. In modern society, at least in America, the battlefield is the one place where death is glorified. Stone-faced reporters describe brutal murders, which are condemned as inhumane and vicious, then report battles abroad, which are treated as sacred defenses of our fundamental and inalienable human rights. A nation of peace? I think not.

  31. The troops must come home some say. I believe so too. Yet, there is a job, a duty. Should it be finished? Is it worth their lives? Would I think so if it were my son? I don’t know. We say we support the troops and yet, what does that mean? Do we think about them on a daily basis, or at all? War does not mean the same thing in this country that it use to but it does to them, to those that fight.

  32. The troops left the base, their thoughts on their loved ones awaiting them at the airport in only a few mere hours. Their bags are filled to the brim. Each person is dressed in their own spotless uniform. Smiles and laughter are exchanged as they get further away from their living nightmare and closer to home.

  35. the troops go marching like ants searching for a way to let their training out. If you’re trained to kill then kill you will no matter what the man in the turban says

    Jag
  36. i support our troops, but feel like there is this tremendous PC pressure to outwardly support them, and to be demonstrative about it. We are so political about the military now, and they are pawns in a battle between left and right about who can be the most supportive, while still trying to get their political points across.

    paul
  37. troops need to be sent home at this point i dont see the reason why we have troops gone or why the hell there is talk of sending more. Troops need to be appreciated and taken care of when they come home.I am thankful for the troops of the present future and past because they keep me safe but right now they are fighting a battle that is for what???

  38. Can you believe it? 30,000 more troops in Afghanistan? I saw the parallels to Vietnam before, but now no one can deny this. But are we lulled into such a complacent state that we won’t protest?
