I don’t want to be a trophy wife. It’s one of those things that I aspire to NOT be. Trophies.. They’re only ornaments, in glass cases, some things that you’re supposed to be proud of. But really, they’re just items of the past. Holding on to the past. I don’t want to cling on, I want to focus on the present. That is what I want from life. Moving on, not a trophy.

I won the trophy! I knew it was mine all along, but it felt good to have the reasurance that i was a winner…….. but forever not winning.
“No, she is not a trophy wife! She graduated from Stanford, and she comes from a long line of business oriented family members. The business, as you well know, being shipping!”
the thing you win when you do something good.
course now they just give them out cause they dont want little johny to feel left out.
valid point i guess, but i dont know… it kind of makes getting one not as special…

I swam competitively for thirteen years, and never once won a trophy.
Ribbons, medals – I won plenty of those, but I was always jealous of those who had somehow managed to perform at the level required to win a trophy that was, in all likelihood, mostly plastic.

Oh come on seriously? Is this the only word you actually have in your database, website? I already did this one. I did GREAT on this one! It was the last one I did, too! You gave me the same word twice in a row, website! Can’t you do better than that? I give up, website. You’re just not cut out for being a website. I’m so sorry, but that’s the way it is. Jerk.

it sat cooling on the window sill. the boy in the overalls with only one strap connected eyed it from the bushes. Any moment now.

“Fuck,” he groaned. He looked at the trophy case and wondered what he’d gotten into. He’d known that Andy was from a well-off family, but he hadn’t considered just how far that went. It was going to be a long summer, whether or not he wanted it to be.
I just sat in his living room and stood there looking at that full shelf, when he got back i knew he had what any american dad dreams of, that shelf full of triumphs of his son, eventhough i never understood it i knew how important it was for his pride for his memories he could never get to be real
I once won a trophy in seventh grade with my drama team partner. I had a huge crush on him for like….ever then finally that day he told me he liked me and asked me out. It was one of the happiest days of my middle school life and I still smile about it to this day. It’s really big and it’s on my desk. Now me and him are good friends. It’s nice to have that memory :) young love…

it was on the top of the shelf, noone would evernoticed it but there it was: golden shiny and triumphant. My eyes went sore trying to understand why she had kept there that much time, when she came I had to face her ande look her in the eyes to make her realize the terrible meaning of her clinging to that idea. She just couldnt pronounce another word, got ight out of the room

it tells people that you were important, or the best at something, or at least attempted to be the best at something. almost a symbol of worth, almost. almost a sign of knowledge or talent or skill.
I’m not a trophy. I’m a woman. Put your pride aside and recognize that this was never about you. I never cared about your profession, nor did I care about the cost of your car. I never cared about your superficial worth. Why do you value mine so greatly?
Sarah Keeler
Many of my friends have expressed the sentiment that an appropriate life choice would be to become trophy wives and have stated, to my horror, that their lives would be much better if they did not have to work or make themselves significant since all they need to do is marry a rich man.
I hate Pride and Prejudice.
Nothing more than a cephalopod
Trophy, they are shiny, they mean you have ACCOMPLISHED something. I wish I would accomplish something. I wish I had a trophy to show you how well I have done. I wish I earned one. Trophies show how great you are, trophies are for winners. I am not a winner. I don’t deserve a trophy. Harry Potter deserves a trophy. Sometimes I wish I was like Harry, not for his magic or fame, but for how loved he is. I like Harry Potter. Oh yeah, trophies. Well I would like one…

When I was a little kid I got a lot of trophies. I played basketball from 2nd grade until high school and a few times my team one championships so the trophy would be really big. I keep them all in the family room at my parents house.

I’ve never really won a trophy before, I mean. I’ve always wanted to be apart of a sports team that won something, but never have I had that privilege! When i think of trophy, I think of the Stanley Cup. We’ll get it next year Canucks!
Breanna Lee
The trophy glistened a violent gold in the sunlight, mocking the losing team with laughter as sickening as the winners themselves. The opposing team to the runner ups were huge, bulky men who seemed to sicken the losing team to a point of hatred, and forced them to hide any and all urges to take the trophy and use it as a brightly polished golden weapon of destruction. The game had been close: the Titans had almost received their first victory against the Devils in fifteen years; however, not one player on the Titans was able to look at the game positively, as they were all far to repulsed with their opponents to consider how close a game they had played. One final touchdown, and they would have won.
Emily Moore
His eyes glistened with tears as he thrust the trophy up into the air, the gold shining as it reflected off the gymnasium lights overhead. The crowd was cheering him on, praising him for what he had done — dribbling the ball to the right instead of to the left and ultimately leading the team to the world championships.
Trophy? That’s like a prize or something. If you win a race you get a trophy. Or maybe it’s a hunting trophy, in which case it’s part of a dead animal or something. I don’t know. There’s not really much to say about these things. If you win, you get the trophy. It’s a status symbol. That’s all. If you get the trophy then you are awesome and win forever.
Bob
The championship was mine. With any luck, I would ace this last event, and take home the coveted prize. There it was, sitting on a pedestal, waiting to be taken home by me. Coach, I can do it. I can get the trophy. No, my leg’s fine. Yes it always looks that way. You can’t stop me!

i want a trophy, she is my trophy and i love her, but she is lost at this point, like a stolen treasure or something that was so amazing at one time, like winning a trophy and having that minute of glory to only start a new season from the bottom. I guess I will just have to keep trying to win and get my trophy or title back. Where to go from here I do not know.

something won. something to show for one’s achievements.
trophies are what we show off to people to boast for ourselves.
they used to make trophies only up to third place, but now they make them for every place.
Trophy..hmm ive never had one. I think they are overrated..just something that sits there…something to remind you of the good you did..but if you never get a trophy, then what good is one to you? You see everyone elses trophy n you feel bad that you never got one…what the hell?! (:

She was the ideal trophy wife. Exquisite beauty, witty charm and impeccable style. Nobody who looked at her would ever guess that beneath that perfect exterior lay hundreds of scars. Scars that were her husbands doing.

I love trophies. I mean who dosn’t like to be appreciated and rewarded for something he or she may have done. I unfortunately don’t have too many trophies but i have certificates. So maybe its the same thing. A form of recognition right?

it wasnt long before i’d won the prize. i’d worked hard for it all my life. in the early hours of the morning, it was waiting for me on the window sill. i was awake very early in the morning and it had wafted its smell up the stairs. i had won, and my prize was delicious, aromatic and glazed. chocolate cake. my favourite trophy.

A trophy can be as simple as the feeling of victory in the back of your mind. a diploma, or even a paycheck. everyone percieves tropys as a sigh you won. but thats not it at all. trophys mark acheivements and stepping stones in ones life.

it glistened on the window sill, collecting dust from leftover dreams, and with the morning light, the rust finally shown, as no longer was all that glittered, gold.

I once won a trophy, it was pretty cool because I had never won anything before. I really liked it, it was a shiny trophy, I cleaned it every day I was so proud. That was the funniest thing, because it was a second place trophy, and it wasn’t even for what the contest was for. It was an extra, minuscule trophy, useless really. I was proud nonetheless, because it was my first trophy.

a trophy is in a sense a protrayal of ones accomplishments. it is viewed as a symbol of success and a prize many yearn to earn. however, this can also be a symbol of falseness as one may receive it under the circumstances of cheating, or manipulating. while the true success lies in the one whose integrity remains in tact. it is a tricky object in that way.
