  16. I am a horse. I like to trot. Sometimes I trot faster than other times, because sometimes I have a reason to trot fast. There are obvious people I want to avoid. Pulling a cart on the street all day for some hay and a few apples is, well, not my idea of a great job, but a horse has got to eat. So when I see the tourists coming I trot faster. Sometimes they give me little treats and I want them to like me.

  32. Hot to trot. What a stupid fucking phrase. My mother kept saying it when I was younger; and my hateful grandmother, too. She wasn’t really my grandmother, either; my mother was adopted.
