  4. Some objects that are used in daily life have a certain connotation, one’s mind immediately finds an image and a use for whatever it may be. We all infer as a product of our mental reasoning, which is and isn’t a bad thing. It can be good when one is in need of speedy decision making, and it can be bad if that fast decision ends up being the wrong one. If you were to wake up and draw your curtains, seeing blue skies and sun, an umbrella would be the last tool you would feel the need to utilize, but, if times were different, and by different I mean of a bygone era or place, that very same umbrella becomes a tool for use in this very weather I have just spoken of, becoming a parasol, transforming into the opposite of what your mind has already inferred.

  5. I used to have a yellow umbrella with large black polka dots. It was my favorite thing to use as a kid. I would wait for the rainy days, and whether it was cold or warm, I would take my umbrella out and splash in the rain, complete with my rain boots. Sadly, my umbrella met a fateful end when a strong gust of wind blew it inside out.

  25. You can stand under mine. Or not, your choice. I don’t really get what this whole umbrella nonsense is about. Why not just man up and walk in the rain? For crying out loud, it’s WATER. It won’t kill you. It will clean you. Unless there’s some acid rain going on. Then you should run at top speed that you may thoroughly douse yourself and die properly.

I’m picturing the color red, yellow, and black, but I can’t remember what the character was. I want to say Annie, but that might be incorrect. I think there was a red plastic ball on the tip too, but I also remember a long silver tip, so maybe not?

I tried jumping off the jungle gym with it once. You know…. to use it as a parachute. It didn’t work. I considered jumping from higher spots to catch more air, but wasn’t completely confident that that was the problem and decided to not take the risk.

    I experimented but I wasn’t a complete idiot.
