  7. Villages are where I spend my summers, in villages surrounded by cornfields and farms. Hide and seek in cornfields or climbing old cherry trees, but this last summer I went back and the cherry tree was dead, so I stole some corn and microwaved it back home.

When asked what the definition of hicks was, she replied… I think they’re some sort of ‘village people’ and looked at me for confirmation. classic. Village seems like an archaic term… Nowadays we just say town.

Much more emotional and social interaction on a personal level than in a large city, in that the entire community is likely to know each other intimately and to have worked together at least once in achieving a common goal. A small building block of civilization that is essential to human progress.

In todays society everyone is so afraid of the “village” they’d never trust them with their children. Children are taught to fear the village as well. I hope its not true or else we were all raised wrong.

  40. I think of village and I think “village idiot” and how many people I know who could fit the description if it really existed. Even people I don’t know but hear or hear about. Today I went to McDonald’s for lunch and as I was paying at the first window I hear the lady talking to the next customer and say “This isn’t Taco Bell, this is McDonald’s ma’am…”
