As old as the hat Grandpa used to wear. Alicia ran down the stairs to greet him. There he was, in the array provided by the neigborhood tailor. The poor man.

I have a vintage feeling. A feeling that maybe the world has not changed at all, but that we are simply moving into another aspect of the same routine. Maybe the past is nothing more than a mass hysteria.
Jeff Loquist
vintage is for pussies with big shades and it pisses me off to see them running around the college with shawls and shit while the temperate outside is like 100c. stupid hippies like these pisses the shit out of me. vintage fashion is shit.
but on the side note, i like vintage cars. volvo 144 and jag and pretty sexy.
zal
old. something old and classic. valuable. I don’t know what I’m supposed to write. Vintage…retro. I don’t know. I’ve heard of vintage cars…I think they are old, yet classic, cars. vintage wine, also old. this is kinda weird.

Old and unique; a style that brings out individual personality. It gives a sense of what was and how it is a part of what is now. It can seems old and then it later times be what is now.

My old coat seems familiar as I walk through the december cold. I am on my way back to an apartment that I call my own, and only my own. The only other company I see is the occasional rat scurrying across the dirty bathroom floor.

i went to a vintage store in carytown with my roommate today. as we were walking out of the store, i said to her, some of the cases in that place were overwhelmingly sparkly. she said, yeah, that whole place was.

vintage wear is the best. You can call anything vintage wear. It’s just old clothes. Now, vintage cars – there is something to write about! I love vintage cars. My family had a 55 Chevy Bellaire. THAT was a cool car.
Kay D.
jeans that are vintage are way more authentic than the “faux” vintage you can buy in a store. I mean, really, who wants to buy the vintage that are actually 100 dollar jeans made by poor Cambodian children factory workers and then paid minimum wage so they can rip it to make it look so called authentic. What kind of age do we live in?
Samantha
60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, even when we are out of 2000. The world will become less and less amazing. Just a mess of how we treated it in the past. Our Earth will become vintage. We are vintage. We will grow old. But we will still be loved by certain people. Everything and everyone is vintage at one point.
Blahh.
Vintage is a show of individualality. It makes peoople sand out. it shows that those who where arent afraid to be an individual
Victoria Kitson
walking into the vintage store you see a variety of antique genuine and old pieces of work, each holding a meaning to the people it had once belonged to. you only see the rough tattered surface never knowing the memories and feelings hidden in its design. the lives its impacted all embedded in its surface.

stylishly selective, moving softly down the crooked street, trying real hard to feel the beat, trying to get it, trying to groove, but he can feel how broken and battered his boots are, and he can feel the cobbles under his feet . . . it’s an old feeling, we’ve all known it even if we’ve never gotten our feet wet in the rain, wearing vintage boots that cost too much

The old musty dress hung in the closet. She took it down from the rack, and held it before the light, inspecting the faded details.
It had been years.

Vintage is often faked and fails miserably. I think I would enjoy vintage clothing more if it wasn’t such a huge trend a few years back; however, my boyfriend and I share a huge penchant for 70s clothing.

something old and of some preconceived value. also, something of a classic nature, as in vintage movie. also, a possible year of production, as in vintage 1909 wine.

the old vintage clothing store was at the end of the road. we used to go there when we were younger and try on yellow prickly women’s suits from the sixties. i wish i could wear vintage clothing. that is a great desire of mine–to go and buy some chuck taylors and faded old boyscout uniform shirts and wear them with a pair of hand me down cut off jeans.
caitlin
its really fun because they sell the old clothes that are coming back into style according to stupid designers that you can buy for a lot of money in a brand name store. or get it for two bucks at a thrift store. and the real clothes from salvation army are cooler because they have history and character. theres something about them instead of clothes that will look ALL the same on the street thanks to designers.

That skirt is checked with red and brown and creen squares. “Oh! I love your skirt!” — “Oh, it was my mom’s, in the eighties” — “OOh! Vintage!” —

I can’t help but feel that you’re replacing me.
This is the same vintage store we always came to, the five of us. The memories I have of our visits to this place are happy, all of them, each one somehow distinctive. We loved looking through the racks of clothing, some of it chic, most completely insane. We made fun of what was ridiculous and tried on what we thought might make us just a little bit sexy.
But now I’m alone, wandering past the gaily colored racks by myself. I can’t help but think that the colors have dulled, lost their charm. It’s a lonely place now, and I’m slowly understanding that this is how things are always going to be from now on.

clothing is so rare to find in a country that has gotten behind…on time. It takes two to tango in this fallow illusion, but one is enough to end it..if there’s commitment. How old is old enough to go into tough, times like these with an optimistic view of a child from crows feet like these.

Vintage teeth. Yellow, witchy wooden teeth. Like George Washington. Why is there stereotype about British people having bad teeth? It makes me want to go google up a picture of Prince Charles. Maybe the queen has bad teeth too??

I go to a lot of thrift stores, and I see a lot of old clothes. It always surprises me how long vintage things stay on the rack, probably because the fashionable young ladies of now are afraid to be seen in some of this stuff. I’m talking /real/ antique clothing, here, stuff my great-grandmother wore when she was younger. In some sixty years, it’ll be jeans and T-shirts that are waiting on the racks for someone not afraid to wear their great-grandparent’s clothing.

vintage is a word that talks about the uniquity of an object. It is also the antiquity of it, as you could have vintage furniture, but not food.

vintage…quality, old school, a classic. Like a classic car. I’m trying to think of the proper way to go about this, do you need to write whatever..but it says don’t think, write, which is what I’m trying to do. Vintage, like an old wine that still tastes good (although I can’t see a wine tasting good)
