Still, I waded along, trying to make it through all the sludge that builds up in the Bayou of Louisiana. This was my favourite hobby in all the world before the chemo, before the family had to move, before the one I loved couldn’t do it anymore..all my fault, and yet everything seemed to wash away in the smelly water that seemed more like home to me than the apartment I just moved into.

I wade through the ocean, my feet cleansed, my spirits high, you are with me mum, walking along in your gorgeous sweet way, hands behind your back, our usual walk along the sea, a soft pastel sunset putting on it’s evening play, the lighthouse in the distance, no one but you and me to see all this, just sweet little birds chasing the waves then running away.

    all floating around my
    big proud chest

And you walk across the waters of confusion, into and over the edge of hollow emptiness. As you wade through the dark.
