  13. The waltz is a type of dance, obviously. But what is dance? If we look to dance, we think of many things- body movement, arms, legs, music, fluidity. But perhaps the bigger purpose that dance has served for the human race is that it offers us a way of connecting with each other- and not only each other, but ourselves. Dance, to us, to many is an outlet unlike any other, offering us a box in which to put our hearts, emotions, and souls.

  14. I’ll put on my gown and you your suit and we’ll dance around the room. Together we will waltz to the music of our hearts.

  15. I enjoy the waltz from time to time, but I don’t really understand the exact method of doing it. I like the Idea and the concept of the waltz. It’s a dance that really makes an impact on you, it’s formal in a way that our society no longer has much time or room for. And for that we should keep the waltz close to our hearts.

  17. One two three One two three
The time is simple. A 3/4 to make the lives of the dancers simpler. The musicians though, we’re the ones who have to suffer. We sit in the back of the stage as the dancers have all eyes on them, have all the fun. They don’t understand what it’s like to be the force behind the art. Without us, they wouldn’t know what to do, there’d be no beat to keep going, keep dancing, one two three.
Oh how I loathe the waltz.

  18. we were walking in summer, floating around the park like it was the air that we breathed. sometimes, i’d remember how much fun it was, knowing that his arm was around mine. we’d kiss in the park, waltzing to the dusk music of our childhood.

  20. I wish I had learned how to waltz. I was once determined to learn all kinds of ballroom dance, and some of my piano-playing comrades and I committed ourselves to figuring out the Vienna waltz from a Youtube video. We had spent ages on it before we realized we were working on the man’s part.

  21. it wasn’t a waltz, more of a thrash, a kicking, dancing uncontrollably, letting it all out. not caring what the others thought. letting my hair down and banging the ground with my hands till they were black and blue. 80’s music is awesome.

  29. I waltzed with Dad
    across the ballroom floor.
He twirled me around and around
    eyes smiling more and more.
A tear dropped onto my satin dress,
for I was the first to break down
and he twirled me around and around and around.
We waltzed until the end of the song
until he cried too, and asked what was wrong.
It’s not the end, not today,
but the beginning. I love you.

  32. The waltz rhythm was stuck in Amy’s head. One-two-three, one-two-three. It took a lot out of her not to start doing the basic step they’d learned in school today down the city street. Oh well. It was such a romantic dance.

    Kay
  38. The waltz was a beautiful dance. People danced it for ages without caring how it was made or supposed to look. What mattered was the partner because if they danced with the wrong partner, it meant an uncomfortable evening for everyone.
