  5. when does not define a time or a place; rather, a feeling. when i was this. its a definition of something or someone at that exact point. and it can never be repeated. its something that only exists once. a sort of magical, unreal, state that is unique for each and every one of us.

  12. When I was younger, I always thought that I would be able to get all that I wanted out of life just by being myself – hell, that is what everyone was telling me back in the seventies and eighties. When I reached middle age and still didn’t have shit to show for my life, I realized that they had all been talking shit, and that all that I did was waste my time and now I just have to ride it all out. The conclusion must be that when people tell you anything, ignore them.

  18. Definitely a place in time that’s, you know, part of who I am. When takes me back and takes me here, I guess. When relates to time, obviously, which definitely relates to a lot of different times that I’ve had. Though I guess when usually relates to the past. Which is cool, and I GUESS you could apply it to the future but it seems more apparent to THEN then NOW. When rhymes with Then, yo. Yeah.

  20. When will I get them? The website says two weeks. Do I believe it? I don’t know. The internet is generally so untrustworthy. What if they’re out of stock? 22. When I was little, or when I could first talk, when this happened or that happened. An object of the past, an action that has already occurred in a time which has already past, now labeled as when. I suppose it can also be in the future, such as when I get old or when I graduate from college. When, when when.

  23. When I was young, I had a best friend who was a boy. We hung out all the time, playing in my back yard, building sand castles, torturing my Barbies. There came a point when boys and girls could no longer be friends, yet we remained. Now, I miss him. I am married…to someone who is not him. I love my husband. I miss my friend.

  32. When I turned around, it was only blackness, and nothing was sacred any more.
It wasn’t really all that scary – no, it was pretty comforting, honestly, feeling all of that cold darkness smiling down on me, all around me, swishing around my feet and spitting me into its own nothingness. It wasn’t really that disconcerting. The reason I turned away from it was because I was afraid of becoming addicted and disappointing myself again.
Little did I know what a horrid mistake that would be.

  38. i was young, the sun used to rise up high and it would burn the landscape. Nowadays, the sun will rise and its heat will lay waste to the world, setting forests ablaze and turning lush green fields into desolate wastelands. It didn’t always do this.

When the moon shone so bright.
When I was looking at it, thinking of you.
It doesn’t shine like it used to.
Like it did that one time.
    But celestial beings are insignificant.
There are too many worldly things on my mind.
Things that are much more important.
