  1. worship is weird to me. it reminds me of idols and complete dedication. which is awesome but freaks me out because it consumes people. maybe i do worship, though. i believe in god, i think. but i think worship has a weird connotation, like it has some possessive power that controls and dominates or something.

  8. I’m not sure I worship anything. It’s a very strong word – worship. Of course the first thought is worshiping some god. Probably one reason I don’t feel I’m religious is that very word – worship. Feels a bit demeaning even? Like I’m less than whatever it is that I’m worshipping.

  11. religion is probably the most ridiculous concept we have created as humankind. I have never heard of a bigger scam. There are certainly off-shoots of this institution that are well-founded, but the basis for religion is money and greed.

  19. i don’t worship anything. many people believe in worshiping god. what is the poing of worship? why do we worship something we believe has a higher power? i believe it’s a comfort thing. we enjoy knowing that a higher power exists, therefore it makes us feel more comfortable about our own lives.

  20. it is a way to relieve the stress of the day. Whether it involves religion or not, to believe in something above you, to love them, is a simple way to become a happier person without doing anything to harm others. It can be quick, slow, or anyway to help yourself be happy. LOVE.

  21. I believe that worshiping something is a little odd. I know that a lot of people worship things so they can have some sort of purpose in their life, but I think that there should be enough purpose without worshiping something that is not your life. I try not to worship, although I worship nature. Nature is almighty.

  25. We all like to thank God for what we’ve done, what we’ve accomplished in this short span of time that we’ve graced the planet with our awkward, shuffling existence. But what does worship bring us? Confidence in our empowered righteousness, the idea that all is right in the world? It’s just our own bubbling perspective, covering our face as we drown underwater.

  27. as she sat in front of the alter, planning on partaking in the worship, she bagan to weap. she realized this was not what she wanted, not what she needed. she had to get out, the room was stifiling and unbearable. she had to leave, she had to see him. but how? how could she get up and simply leave at a time like this? she’d have to come up with something brilliant.

  29. I don’t know what to worship anymore. No one seems to. Do we worship a higher power? Or do we worship more found things, like money, power, and consumerism? What about less found things? Love could be higher to find than a god. At least we can see what we want when it is made up. But love is real, and much scarier to worship than anything else on this earth.

  39. Heart pounding, she looked up at the face that she so adored. Smooth jawline, smoldering eyes, fine tanned skin — so many perfections that that in itself was the finest flaw to be seen. She swallowed down her adoration, turning away from the picture, unable to look at the other face accompanying it; he had doused her worship the moment he’d wrapped his arm around the other girl’s shoulder.
