  1. Yoga is extremely hard; Ive tried it once and it made me more frustrated than it did relax me. It is on FitTV every morning, sometimes I feel movtiated to do it, but most of the time I don’t.

  4. There were men on tv doing yoga while smoking pot non-stop from dusk till dawn for the religious experience. Women learned to love their fellow women in the most intimate ways. And the world refused to end.

  6. calm of breath and body and mind and i press my hands together at my breast and I can breathe and breathe. downward dog was always too much for me but i can rest in child’s pose and feel like a woman with my knees digging against the floor and my lungs sighing and sighing. I can only think sometime when I am there and standing and so full of breath.

  7. And there she was, the most feminine bear in Jellystone Park. The national park staff had thought they had tagged all teh bears. the troublesome Yogi was well established… but this new bear, she was something to behold.

  10. im terrified of starting yoga, i feel like you have to be good at yoga before you take a beginner level class. And what will my body look like in all of those different positions..i should probably work out and go on a diet before i put on my yoga pants. will it really have a calming effect?

  11. I’ve only tried bikram once. I was discouraged by the heat – my aversion to it – and the fact that I turn the color of a fire hydrant when I get even slightly warm. But i went – in my sports bra and shorts and sweated and sweated and sweated onto my yoga mat. It was sort of cathartic, in the end.

  12. The yoga instructor was new. She walked into the room and sat on the mat, lifting her leg above her head like some kind of alien, or a character in a movie. No one there could ever do that, this was a class for seniors. No one dared to talk to her, she might think they were interested in pursuing the arts.

  13. “Yogawhole”–the slogan’s painted on the outside of my mom’s friend’s house, where she teaches yoga classes. My dad makes fun of it, saying it sounds too conspicuously like another kind of hole. I sometimes think about the women who take these lessons, and their SUVs and Starbucks and children. Does yoga make them whole, or just ‘holes?

  14. Yoga is something that I have never tried. It appears to be interesting. Lots of stretching. It seems to be a peaceful thing to do. Just looks a little boring to me. I like more motion.

  20. yoga is something my boyfriend and i can do together to end a stressful day or to start our morning off right. it’s relaxing and i enjoy the meditative state it can put me in. i’d like to think it makes me more physically fit, but i do it more for the mental and spiritual aspects.

  21. i never really understood yoga. i know it means you’re supposed to stretch and become one with the earth and nature and salute the sun and all that grand new-age shit, but really, if i wanna get more flexible, i’ll stretch, if i wanna get more in touch with nature i’ll go for a walk. it’s a silly fad, i think, but it’s getting more and more popular. it’s not the kind of thing guys do.

  22. yoga brings me to a state that is unlike anything else. you can lift weights and work out and all of that, but it doesn’t change your mind like yoga does. at the end, you get to meditate, which might be the coolest thing ever. imagine lying on a floor in your apartment, but in actuality, you’re on a beach, with the gulls cawing and the waves crashing and the sun beating down on you

  23. The guru sat on the hot coals as we watched. Jake sipped his tea beside me, eyes wide and fixed on the masterful yoga displayed in front of us.

  26. yoga is supposed to be calming, helping you to breathe, and relax, and get your mind of things. sleeping is my yoga. i take a deep breath, exhale, and the rest of the world doesn’t exist for a little while. my body doesn’t feel so tense, and everything seems less important. isn’t that what yoga is supposed to be? i’ve never done yoga, but that’s how i imagine it. i guess the “mmmmm” is if you snore.

  37. I think it’s kind of lame. I’ve tried it a million times, always with good intentions, and then three courses in, staring at someone’s butt in spandex, I realize that I like spending my time doing other things. But people who do yoga just look good, so I always get tricked into doing it again. They also sell it to you in different ways.

  40. Yoga makes me think of yogurt. I’ve never done yoga, but I love yogurt. Particularly the chocolate mousse flavor that Yoplait makes. I really like fruity flavors too, but not blueberry. Yuck. Blueberry anything is just disgusting.
