  1. I had no compassion for these people anymore. Our environment was so contained that everything was blown out of proportion. And I had finally had enough. Sitting in that almost empty room, my suspicions were confirmed. Something was seriously wrong with this place. And I wanted out.

  2. they said those people were compassionate. i don’t really see it that way at all. compassion is the same as pity; don’t you think?

  6. There he sat, feeling alone. He didn’t know what to do anymore. The world seemed so cruel now, and nothing made sense anymore. If only he had someone to talk to… But then he heard footsteps and when he looked up, he saw a girl walking towards him. When she saw him there, his face streaked with tears, she said, “What’s the matter?” For a second, he didn’t know what to say. “I- I don’t know…” he managed. “It’s just.. nothing ever seems to work out anymore.” He stopped himself before he started to cry again, his throat already starting to choke up. “Hey,” she said as she sat down next to him, “maybe you can tell me about it, whatever it is…” And with that, he started talking, telling her everything wrong in his life. She listened, not interrupting once through the whole story.

  7. the word to describe how you feel with others, have compassion have sympathy be nice, you’re not always right and you don’t have to be insensitive. Be caring, be thoughtful, show the others how you feel, let them feel like they have a friend. be there, love easily that’s all you have to do. that’s all that matters if everyone was more compassionate then life would be better.

  9. I look at his face and see that there are tears in his eyes. I am suddenly overcome by the need to hug him, the need to bury my face in his shoulder and thank him for feeling that way. But here we are, both stuck in our spots, standing and staring and feeling something warm inside of ourselves that is certainly not romantic love.

  10. One is dumb. One is manipulative. Ok, the other one is dumb too. My attitude is hard. I am captive. I am suffocating. I’m not sure how I’ll survive. I attempt compassion but I want to crawl under my desk.

  11. Doing things for others out of the kindness of your own heart.

    by Kathryn on 10.13.2011
  12. It has been brought to my attention that I am cold. Frigid bitches can only hold cold hearts. Compassion breeds heat which an icy heart cannot carry.

  13. Once upon a time there was a princess. She was not like most princesses. She was mean and nasty. One day, a prince climbed into her tower to rescue her, and find a wife. However, she threw her shoes at him and asked him what he was doing there. He left. And hated all princesses from then on, without compassion. Never again did he give any other lady a chance, and he died alone.

  14. The overwhelming sensation of pity for others. The festering wound that is sympathy. Compassion grows in us like a virus, making us sickeningly kind.

  17. Compassion. Who gives a *** about compassion?! Right now. You’re telling me to be compassionate? That guy just stole the only money I have to cross the country with in a time of two days. I am not the Bishop of Les Mis.

  18. Another Chance
    Loving

I had compassion for her- even though she had dropped my backpack in a puddle and “accidentally” tripped me – so I let her borrow my pencil and said “thats ok” when she broke it. She pushed me in soccer, but I let her have my extra cookie when she forgot her snack. Compassion.

  19. Compassion is something that seems to be missing in today’s society. No body cares about anyone else except themselves. They don’t worry about other people’s problems, just their own. They don’t feel compassion, sorrow, or sympathy. Just selfishness.

    by Morgan on 10.13.2011
  20. Compassion is a feeling that’s not common. I think it’s something that needs to be introduced and taught for a person to realize they ever had any at all. It’s an emotion that is uniquely human and wonderfully raw.

    by Liz on 10.13.2011
  21. My compassion is your compassion. That is to say, I’m sharing this thing called compassion with you; not that my compassion IS yours. You have your own, and I also have my own. But there is a tiny bit of overlap. A compassion Venn Diagram is usually the best method to sort out our feelings.

  22. love, care, empathy, family, friends.

  23. Compassion for others is one thing I have to remember losing bits of, and keeping some for me. I have to be more selfish.

    by Alekss on 10.13.2011
  24. I wish everyone would show more compassion. Judgement breeds anger, contempt, hurt and hate. Let us all think of the other person, their situation, the circumstances that led them there and maybe if their hand was forced? They had it all right in the 60s and 70s…it’s all about love and peace…

  25. compassion is for life love and the less fortuante and the compasion comes from the heart the deepest part of our soul

  27. some one you feel sorry for. your nice to a person………

  28. Compassion is the best thing you can give to a person its about caring for them and loving them and knowing that you have to tell them what they need to hear and not what they want to hear, thats why its compassion you need to do whats best for them and not whats best for you for once. Its important that your do that. Some of my friends have compassion and some dont.

    by Michayla on 10.13.2011
  29. Compassion is important, but I think I seem to lack it. Love is its child. I seem to have skipped a generation. I put on a facade of compassion, but deep down, I really couldn’t care less. I am in a bubble, untouchable above the clouds.

  30. He couldn’t help it. People always said his compassion would be his down fall, as odd as that might sound. He was just so willing to do anything to help anyone. It didn’t really matter if he knew them or not. He had some angel complex. If only he did everything he could have to stay with his family. We miss you.

  31. Compassion means so much to all of us but none of us really understand it. I mean we can try. We want to understand. When your eyes lock with those that are feeling tears you want desperately to understand compassion and show but sometimes were just too shocked or forgetful of the definition to illustrate it. I hope one day the shock will wear off and we can but how it will be there forward? After the compassion is shown? Do we know?

  34. She held no compassion for her guests, no subtle recognition played in her eyes. Only a hostess, with her marble eyes gleaming with service. She was not there to know you, not there to be your friend. She just made sure you thought she was kind, and that the parties she had were good. Relationships were not her thing.

    by Mary on 10.13.2011
  35. I am compassionate about things that present themselves to me abruptly and alter my life, whether shortly or for the long run.
With French Horn, it changed who I was, and I loved the beauty I created with it.
With guys, I love the way they touch and smell and feel and taste, and if they are amazing they really make me want to be a better person.

  38. the light in his eyes said everything. she could stay here. maybe raise the baby. she had a home, and with Mr. Henderson. thank you! she said.

then after 10 years of raising the child, Florina, Ms. Dahntry and Mr. Henderson grew fonder and fonder of each other and soon they were married. but this would not have happened if it weren’t for Mr. Henderson’s compassion of welcoming her into his lonely halls of which a baby girl and a missing wife was to found
