  2. He opened his hand and let the crushed remnants of the delicate crystal fall to the ground. There were shards embedded in his palm and blood dripping from his fingers but he didn’t notice, his focus completely on Samantha.

  6. I had a feeling that wouldn’t let go of me, clinging to my bones like steel talons. In the waiting I found a space where the devil hid and in the moving I found a place to rest my tired mind. Every time I looked up I could see the trail from whence I had came and every time I looked down I forgot entirely where I was going.

  7. I kind of liked his hair, and his smile, and I craved more of his voice – I let my head fall to my hands. I had a crush on another boy.

  9. She held the rock in her hand and thought about throwing it. Really she did. It was just an old building. Empty, abandoned by civilization and time. But while the others let their stones fly free and wild at the brittle, forgotten glass, she could not. Perhaps she was developing something of a crush on the old place.

  10. Crush is many things.
It’s a drink that comes in different flavors such as orange and grape.
It’s a song by David Archuletta.
It’s a mild case of love, one that I’ve had many times.
I think that a crush is an amazing feeling to have. It’s the closest feeling you can have to love without actually having it.

  11. i have had crushes in the past. many may to come, or maybe not. Right now the only crush i have is on my boyfriend. I love him dearly. Is it possible to have a crush on someone who loves you already? Does it count if they still give you butterflies?

    by Victoria on 06.29.2011
  12. The feeling was worth being with you, even if I couldn’t say anything. The way my heart leapt to my lips when you were near. Oh my God, your hair, your hips, your eyes. I would spend hours and hours obsessing over the way the curve of your shoulder met your neck. I was lovestruck.

  13. I am terrible for crushes. I have fallen in love with people, had an entire relationship with them, had the relationship hit the rocks and sadly part ways without us ever speaking a word to each other.

  14. velvet slips silently between her fingers. she bites at the skin on her lips, the longer the plays with the stray skin, the greater her distraction shall be. if you hold it in the palm of your hand, how tightly will you squeeze it?

  15. I didn’t mean to crush her feelings. I only wanted to let her down gently. I have never been good with words, you understand, and it was only recently that I realized she was not to be trusted. But I never meant for this to happen.

  16. The lollipop lady couldn’t help it. For weeks now she’d been looking out for the yummy scrummy head teacher Mr Davenport, the new head, and now, half and hour before the school bell went, she hovered outside half on, half off the zebra crossing waiting for him to show. Nobody would expect a sixty year old pensioner to fall for a boy would they. What a state things were, this could never be revealed to anyone. What to do, but wait, to help juniors and infants cross the road, and dream of a second when Mr Davenport might just need to be shown over the road.

She sighed, and laughed, you’re a bit old for this crush malarky aren’t you. Then she heard it, the bell ringing, and not one single Mr Davenport to be seen.
She’d see him tomorrow, of that she was certain.

  18. I remember my first crush. It was on a boy in my sixth grade class. I liked him all year long but I was a bit of a nerd. I was actually a huge nerd. On the last day of sixth grade at the roller skating rink I told him I liked him and he never spoke to me again.

  19. The weight that is felt by all the stress put on us seems like it is enough to crush us sometimes.

  20. Crush your ice when you put it in your drinks, or else you might have to deal with that awkward moment where you try to take a sip but can’t because a really big piece gets stuck there and it just ruins the moment of your drink…

  22. Part II

    This is different; very different.
Most people walk into Walmart expecting to buy groceries, pull some pranks and maybe run into one of their former teachers. That day, Walmart ran into /us./
It was so terrifying. It was dark, people were screaming, the walls were shaking and I whispered in your ear: “Julian, I’m so scared.”
And that’s when everything came down–when everything crushed us.

  23. i can’t I must, what if, He walks this way, how else is he going to get off the bus my friend looks at me like I am so special in all ways, ach, he moves and I stand on the stairs of the 25 bus waiting for him to do what, to get off the bus. Highs and lows of adolescent experience, my unrequited bus companion whizzes down the steps, without the backward look, and I can breathe out again. Ecstatic at being ignored by him.

Ouch, it hurts being a nobody on a grandscale, rejected and unloved, I could cry, until my realistic other half says, move it, you’re going to miss your stop.

  25. I had a crush on you, and on you, and on you, but I ended with you. I was burned by many–crushed by many–until I found you; the only one who wouldn’t burn nor crush me. The word, ‘crush,’ is pretty ironic: it’s used to describe an affection for another but foreshadows failure. Huh.

  26. i had a crush on you. i had a crush on you for a few years and then i think maybe you started to catch on. then you had a crush on me and we did something about it. now i’m crushed because it’s over. oh boy. i wonder if you could ever relieve the pressure you’ve weighed on me. it crushed me and now i’m crushed. i don’t want to be crushed!!!!!! come on…

  27. I’ve had a crush. I’ve been crushed. Both heart and soul poured out.

  28. They were just kids. Spending as much time outside playing as their parents would allow. They played with all the kids in the neighborhood, playing tag, cards, skateboarding, everything normal kids did. It was obvious they had a crush on each other, but they were both too shy to act on it. After all, they were just kids. Over time, all the kids grew up, some of them moved away, some stayed, some had babies. They got married.

  29. It stopped. The ceilings, the walls, of countless floors above, reduced to a pile of chaos. Dust filled her nostrils and burned her eyes. She didn’t dare try to move.

Through the beams she could see her friend. Motionless. “Can” – was all she got out before choking on the ash and debris that rushed into her opened mouth. She buried her face in her coat until her coughing subsided, then slowly shifted her weight, only the tiniest bit, to free up her left hand which was pinned above her head. She could feel the the stinging sensation of needles rushing through her arm as she tried to move it the slightest bit, but the tingling stopped at her wrist. The rest of her hand was firmly wedged. In what she couldn’t tell, but it wasn’t going to move. Not without bringing down the structure surrounding it.

  30. Crush crush crush. A song by Paramore. Reminds me of my last summer. Swimming with Sara and messing around at youth group. It was good times. I’m glad to say this summer has been just as good :) A different song describes it though, I’m not sure what…

  31. The blush crawled up her face, reaching her ears and turning them bright red. Her heart fluttered as his hand brushed hers. She knew that she should be concentrating on saving the world, on making this world a better place for everyone, but right now all she could concentrate on was his hand next to hers.

  32. I lay there, motionless.

I stared up and realised what was happening. TIme slowed down. I felt it. My eyes blinked. Memories of her flashed through my mind like a movie on fast forward. My heart ached for her but all I did was smile as the rock came tumbling down.

  33. Downed, felled, at the very bottom. But that means that there is a very top, and when you think about it, the top is reachable by climbing upward or thinking your way upward. So when there is a downing, a felling, a bottoming-out, because we’re gifted with thought, we think our way up.

  34. I did not know what to do. One moment I absolutely hated him, and the next I felt like I liked him. Nothing had changed. It was just, when he helped me up and our hands touched, I wasn’t able to think clearly. I wanted to stay there, with our hands intertwined. I don’t know if it’s just a crush…or maybe more.

  35. orange. purple. 80s. later I heard drinking games were involved. later I heard but I thought—all that sugar? terrible hangovers. sunny delight. edward 40 hands.

  36. Yes – this word is still used in this way… ‘She has a bit of a crush on him,’ ‘I had a massive crush on that 80’s pop band.’ Crush. We crush ice. We crush eachother as we squees onto the tube…
