This keeps all the bristles nice and smmoth, thus giving a better result the next time you paint somethig. Its also a good idea to wrap brushes that you’ve used for gloss poainintg in clingfilm, in this way you don’t need to clean then with white spirit between uses

  16. It’s there, sitting there, brush-side up. By the kitchen window. Speckles of vermillion green and some shade of umber are dried in. I think it was last communing with a tree on canvas. I can’t remember which tree. It’s looking lonely but I don’t feel I want to pick it up again quite yet.

  22. It is long and hairy and covered with a mess of color. People utilize it in only one way, to paint. Although I do believe it could be used in many other ways. Plastic or wooden handle, it is a magnificent invention, making human lives easier everywhere.

  23. i picked up a paintbrush this morning. it was thick and covered in goo. i slapped it onto the wall in front of me and covered myself in it, too. it was a lovely bluish colour, one that makes you think of the sea. the front room looks fresh and clean now and i’m as happy as can be.
