  1. Everyone was in attendance to your funeral. If I had a choice I wouldn’t have been there. I wonder if any of them know how you really were behind the walls of our old brick home. I wonder they knew how close you were with the giant bottle of vodka hid underneath the kitchen sink. I wonder if they knew what was underneath all my makeup today. The bruises, the scars. Do they know? Or am I the only one harboring the secret?

  2. My attendance in the fifth grade became rather spotty, and so did my radio. The only thing I can remember learning that year was how to avoid the principal in the hallway and which spots in the school were the safest places to smoke without getting caught.

  3. the attendance from the languid glint
    fleecing from the shadow-combed pit
    in my mind
    dims down
    though, I, unflinchingly,
turn on the lamp corded to my smile
to the sun that seeps close to my sidewalk
to the unpaired liveliness of the shrimp that still chatters its body when marketed
    on its death platter!

  4. Attendance is important because it allows you to learn. Learning is an amazing way to expand your knowledge and grow with yourself. Always be present both physically and mentally to everything that is important to you. It matters.

  5. On the new app for the kids school, we can see their attendance record. 77% attendance. 92% attendance. Like a competition against ourselves. A mark of our success or failure. A grade on our health, perhaps?

  6. “It is mandatory!”
    There was a collective groan.
“Hey! None of that now. You all knew attendance was compulsory.”
Learning how to “walk like a lady” was not the girls’ idea of a good time.

  7. Attendance is considered to be a crucial part of school ,work, and life in general. I strongly disagree. It does not matter the amount of days you are there, it is the effort and work you do.

  8. There was an attendance at the school about school safety and it was extremely boring, tiring, and made no sense.

  9. The attendance at the football game was almost 1000 people we almost ran out of seats.

  10. At the birthday party there was almost 100 people that attended and 20 that didn’t come.

  11. I want to get the award for not missing any attendance.

  12. Teresa sucked in air so hard it made her swoon. The sonofabitch had actually showed up. Albeit disheveled, torn jeans, greasy hair, and wearing cheap whiskey like cologne. A furtive glance to her classmates confirmed her worst fears. “Is that someone’s dad?” someone whispered. She steeled herself and waved grandly. “Dad! Over here.” Drunk or not, his smile still melted everything else in her world.

  13. the man stood at attendance for 8 hours until he was finally sentenced his leave during the holacost

  14. My attendance for school is almost perfect. One year in public school someone attended every day and had perfect attendance.

  15. We’re expected to show up where we are supposed to be. If not, we can penalized. This is especially the case when we’re young. When we’re older, we get to choose where we go. But somehow we feel guilty when we don’t show up.

  16. There was very little people at the meeting and so there was a long debate to see if the meeting should carry on.

  17. Everyone who attended the party was happy for my 24 birthday party and there was a lot of attendance at my party.

    Caden
  18. The attendance to the party was very little and everyone there was very bored because there was not a lot of people at the party.

  19. You must all be in attendance for this amazing, smashing, brilliant event. We will blow your mind, and make note that all of you who show up will be the recipients of a wonderful surprise at the end. Don’t blink, don’t think, just sit back and enjoy.

  20. you have to be in attendace to enjoy your life. you have to be in the moment. you have to be present. Not thinking of the past or the future. you have to be right Now. That is the first step to enjoy the rest of your life.

  21. I want one word for “soaked it up like a sponge,” as in “He soaked it up like a sponge.

    Robert Dow
  22. one word for “like a

sponge,” as in “He soaked it up like a sponge.”

    Robert Dow
  23. The attendance was way higher than they imagined it would be. There were 3,000 people!

  24. Attendance in class was a necessary thing in order to actually pass it. Not that he really cared, to be honest; he really didn’t care about a lot of things, and attendance was just one of many.

  25. She raised her hand and went back to her book, the teacher droning on with names down the list. She furrowed her brow in concentration at the words on the page. What did it all mean? It seemed so impossible to get though, the words catching her legs like bramble, her eyes stumbling over the syntax.
Maybe she would never be good at it.

  26. They checked the attendance list. Nearly everybody who had been invited showed up. Only Mr. F. and Miss P. had not arrived yet.

  27. She was late for school. She hurriedly hopped on the bus and took a seat near the window. With almost 10 minutes left, she ran to the classroom and made it just in time before attendance checking. Mrs. Meyers started the roll call, and upon calling her name, “Briggs!” she proudly said, “Present!”

  28. The state of attending; presence.

The count or list of individuals to present for an event.

The frequency with which one has been present for a regular activity or set of events.

To come into a room filled with a meeting or a subject to be talked; Discussing about.

  29. It’s 8 in the morning. I’m sitting in class, the teacher is going on about something that doesn’t really matter to me. My back is pressed against my chair and I’m there but I’m not really there.

  30. My record is shotty, I’ll admit it. I haven’t been the best at showing up for classes. Sometimes the weight of being in that room is too much. Too much sadness for things that once were. Too much lonely. Sometimes, I just need breakfast. I know you’re disappointed, but you gave up on me long before I gave up on you and we both know it’s true. “Why apply yourself” is a silly question to ask when you checked out on us a long time ago. So yeah, I came into class forty-five minutes late with a cup of coffee in my hand but you didn’t do anything when they turned my only place of refuge into a war zone, so who should really be disappointed here?

  31. Jimmy was never one to not be at school. He was an A student, on the basketball team, the debate club and was also the lead of the graduation party. However this year, Jimmy couldn’t take it anymore and decided to kill himself and so was not in attendance for graduation.

  32. I attend school. I do, really. But sometimes I decide not to attend school. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I hate my first block teacher. He’s a bit of an asshole. He always judges my hair and it’s weird. What kind of teacher judges his student’s hair? It’s purple, so what? It’s short and scraggly, so what? I hate him and his stupid comments. That’s why my attendance has sucked, mom- because of my first block teacher who judges my hair. That’s the only reason I sometimes decide not to attend school.

  33. they’ll be in attendance
    maybe
    just look straight ahead
    and smile the shit out
    of your face
    shitfaced, eh?

    they won’t even notice
    the tremor in your voice
    as you wrangle with pride
    and nervousness,
    standing on the precipice
    of privelege

  34. a simple thing really, but something people somehow find themselves missing

what does it really mean to be fully present?

    sometimes I find

my heart wandering on its own

and I wander along with it- I wonder if it’ll meet a fellow traveller

if it’ll survive the rough road it always chooses to traverse on

  35. you must be in attendance at every since dance lesson.
god, it was so structured. i felt like a robit, being pushed through from one week to the next, one lesson to another. where was the room for spontaneity? maybe i could run away.
jump on the first train and let it take me into the next country. i could cut my long hair off, so hsort it wouldn’t fit in a bun, and rent out a dorm.

  36. when i was elementary school i always had perfect attendance, i got a lot of rewards for it. but once i got in middle school and high school my atendance went down :(

  37. If all the world truly is a stage, when it’s my turn to play the lead and I look out to the audience will I find you in attendance or will you have better things to do by then?

I’m just curious, ’cause I’ve always been in the front row for you.

  38. my attendance is sooo poor. i can’t stand being late, but there’re other people to acocunt for and they aaalways make me late. i missed tons of gcse english lessons just because the college is full of idiots, well maybe not, but the organisation skills are lacking to say the least.

  39. Running late, Myra ran through the lobby into the concert hall. Everyone who was everyone was in attendance that night. Sliding up next to Spenser, Myra looked around to make sure that she would be seen. It would do her reputation and standing a world of good to be seen there.

  40. The teacher tried to take attendance, but it didn’t help that half of her class was running late. Little did she know that a massive accident had blocked both sides of the road leading to the high school, so everything was backed up. As the police cars and paramedics trucks, with their sirens screeching and their lights blazing, tried to snake their way along the madness of honking automobiles and roaring motorcycles, Shawn, desperate to get to class, craned her head over her steering wheel to see the wreckage on full display.
