She sighed as she saw the oil start dripping from her car. On the middle of the highway, this certainly wasn't her day. A trucker pulled to a stop behind her car, and a old man climbed out of his cab. "Need some help, lil lady?"
"No, no, I'm fine. I'll have triple A on the phone in a few." She forced a smile, a frowned once she realized her phone had no bars. "Uh... wait...can I get a ride?"
Looking at him, she felt like thorns were pricking into every inch of her being. He looked so happy; so nonchalant. As if this whole time, they never experienced any sort of love. That this was all just a game he played; oh how he did play her well. A tear slipped down her cheek. It tickled, soothing any pain in its path.
She heaved a sigh as she tried to push the rest of the trunk into her car. Sweat was gathering on her brow, and she silently scolded herself for choosing to move on one of the hottest days on record. She glanced behind her shoulder and saw him watching her. He had a big cool glass of lemonade in his hand, and small chiding smirk growing on his face. "Need some help?"
They say that there's always going to be a glimmer of hope. But I never see it. I feel lost; like I'm in the middle of some crazy maze, and every single time I reach out to touch the walls, I'll get shocked back. I'm in a hole. I'm stuck. I'm crying and I want to get out. He's the only one there for me anymore, and he's leaving me someday. I know it. I can't find that glimmer of hope. Whoever said that to me - I hope you die.
"Ughhhh, my legs feel like a cactus," Ana whined to her sister, who, in return, rolled her eyes.
"I don't see the point in you shaving your legs tonight; it's a first date," the sister teased back coyly. "Unless you're planning on a little more than a movie?"
Ana sniveled her nose up, "It may be in the cards. Safe than sorry, right?"
Her mouth was parched as she trudge onward in the desert.
He glanced behind his shoulder, and offered a charming smile. She forced a smile back.
The things she was subjecting herself to for him.
At first the trek seemed fun. Nice way to get that glowing tan she desperately seek in tanning beds. But now... she just felt burnt to a crisp.
What foolish things love makes one do.
His eyes roamed over her body, and his mouth began to water as if he were tasting a fine dessert. She giggled at his lack of control, and beckoned him over to her with a finger.
She breathed deeply, and leaned forward, "Kiss me, baby."
And he did. The pleasure was beyond electrifying... until the knife embedded deep into his back. She pulled back, wiped her lips, and whispered, "Burn in hell, babe."
Kissed his forehead one last time before he fell backwards, dead.
She acted like a spoiled princess.
Shocker, right?
You'd think that someone who had her looks and brains would be walked all over. She wasn't pretty nor could she hold a half intelligent conversation. But, hey, she had the cash. She suddenly became every man's dream girl. Because those benjamins talk, baby.
Her shoulder ran roughly into mine, bursting my bubble back to reality.
Obey.
That's what they always want from me.
They want me to be perfect.
They want me to be what everyone else isn't.
But I see myself faltering everyday.
I see the cracks within the statue.
The fissure is slowly growing, growing, growing...
One day I'll break.
One day I'll end it all.
And I'll look them in the eye, and whisper:
"Look at what you've done to me."
She shuffled along in the crowded hallways.
Everything seemed so huge. She felt so tiny.
Someone's elbow smashed into her ribs.
She yelped, leaping sideways.
She hit a tall boy.
He pushed her.
She stumbled across the hall, and in to a locker.
This high school was sure different from her old one.
