feud
When I moved back to town the family feud began. Today we are strangers, living in a strange land...tomorrow? Who knows what tomorrow shall bring?
siren
The echo of the siren wailed through the night, announcing that something was terribly wrong. I found her in her bed, bottle of pills in her hand, computer open beside her. Word was up on the screen with one short sentence. I'm sorry, I just can't do it anymore.
whiskers
He stroked me with his rough hands, his whiskers stinging my face. I was only a child, yet he stole my innocence as a thief in the night.
telescope
Whipping in and out of the gusty winds, the sails nearly tearing, I raise the telescope to see if I can spot any sign of land.
sweater
Death is coming home today. I feel his icy fingers as they twist around my ailing heart. I shudder and don a warmer sweater, but there will be no stopping him. I can already smell his decaying breath.
flannel
Under the down blanket, next to the fireplace, snuggled in flannel is where you'll find me this winter.
sunlight
I saw his face in the sunlight, and he bowed his head. I wandered down the beach toward him, but he continued to elude me.
chatter
I can't tell you the day I noticed it...all the chatter in my head drowned out any thoughts I could ever hope to hang onto.
left
It was all I had left, those memories. They paraded through the dark corridors of my mind, taunting me, torturing me with the scent of lost innocence.
tallest
It was quiet in the autumn woods. The creek sang and the crickets chirped into the night. I climbed the tallest tree and waited for the moon to take her flight.
