We walked alongside the railroad tracks and poured out our secrets with every step we took - away from what we were used to, away from "real life". We picked a flower each and tossed it in the creek, sealing our promise to each other that what we talked about would never be mentioned for anyone else's ears to hear. As corny as this sounds, this really did happen.
guns, violence, death. Our generations are built around it, in our video games, movies, books. It's everywhere on the internet. It defines us as people; our obsession with violence ad gore.
She embraced life; she told herself that there was so much to live for; laughter, love, happiness, bliss, travel, a family of her own someday, ambitions and dreams that she had yet to discover. She embraced her life, even as it was presently; with pressure from her parents, pressure from school, pressure from the uncertain future, and pressure from herself. She embraced hope; that things would get better and that the good in life that she was just overlooking would outweigh the bad, and all she had to do was hang in there and not give up. Although her wrists still held the faint whispery scars; for each failed grade, each hateful fight with her parents, each moment she was careless and could have done better, she hangs on, and clings to hope.
Her life seemed to change after her signing in with a record deal. A long, black, stretch limo brought her to a land of red carpets, dazzling lights, and flashes from cameras erupting from every corner of her vision. she was a star now, something she always dreamed of becoming but never acknowledged to someday become true.
