panel
The judges sat on the panel in front of me. They stared down their noses. I couldn't remember the last time I'd felt so small.
whiskers
She thinks she's the bee's knees, the cat's whiskers. How she can stand there and say that God only knows. What a woman!
costume
My job reminds me of a costume drama. I work on an old estate. It's like a modern day version of Upstairs Downstairs.
table
On the tablewas a bottle of vintage champagne. She knew it was vintage, she'd seen the label before. She'd sold one in the restaurant weeks ago now for a thousand pounds.
octopus
He had arms like an octopus, a hand in every crevice. I pulled away, ducked to avoid his slobbering mouth. Yuk!
seat
He flew by the seat of his pants. The stairs he took three at a time. He had to get to the station before she left.
sweater
My favorite old sweater was navy blue. My sister and I had one each for Christmas. We wore them til they were threadbare.
bear
The bear essentials - that's all we could take. It was impossible to think I couldn't take the kitchen sink.
flannel
An old man in grey flannel trousers walked across the bridge. He paused at the entrance to the park, looked inside. If he found what he was looking for it didn't shpw. He sighed and walked on.
sunlight
Sunlight seeping through the curtains made Stacy wince. Her hangover had just kicked in and she was beginning to remember what she'd got up to last night.
