I strung the string through the hook, making sure everythinhg was sacure and tight. then, hart pounding, i watched the girl, Emiline, jump off the bridge, and watched her bounce back up right before hitting the bottom.
"OHMYGOSH GUYS THAT WAS WAAAAY COOL!!!" she exclaimed to her friends. "Thanks sooo much Annabell!" she said to me.
I look out the window at the rain pouring down from the sky. My grandmother hums softly to herself as she washes the dishes after dinner. Everything is at peace. Everything, that is, except my brother, who I haven't seen in five years today.
My sobs echoed around the big, empty room. I sat at the base of the pillar, remembering his smile, his energy, his life. My loud sobs turned angry as I hit the pillar, tried to push it away, knowing it wouldn't work. He was gone from me, forever. Gone. Dead. And all because I hadn't been able to save him. My brother. My own brother, killed in my own battle.
I looked up at the stone pillar. It was pearly white, with ivy curling around the base of it. I shivered, knowing this could be the end. I touched the cool surface of it. "Joshua?" I whispered, hoping to God he could hear me, and would be able to find me.
I lack in a lot of things. I lack at school. I lack at social etiquet. I even lack at writing a decent story, as you have probably realized. I lack self confidence. I also lack confidence in others. It's not my fault. I just do.
