The Autumn breeze
Doeth whisk away
(In gentle whispers in the wind)
The troubles that
The Spring may bring
(Which Summer’s Kiss did not remiss)
The Falling leaves,
The browning Green,
Are Scales of Burden that we shed
When Winter’s Blanket
Fast approaches–
And Phoenix years
Are birthed anew.
The Autumn breeze
Doeth whisk away
(In gentle whispers in the wind)
The troubles that
The Spring may bring
(Which Summer’s Kiss did not remiss)
The Falling leaves,
The browning Green,
Are Scales of Troubles that we shed
When Winter’s blanket
Fast approaches–
And Phoenix years
Are birthed anew.
The Autumn breeze
Doeth whisk away
(In gentle whispers in the wind)
The troubles that
The Spring may bring
(Which Summer's Kiss did not remiss)
The Falling leaves,
The browning green,
Tre scales of troubles that we shed
When Winter's blanket
Fast approaches--
And Phoenix years
Are birthed anew.
There is nothing
more profound
than true love
expressed in full.
Not love as one feels
in a passion,
or in a flutter
of the chest--
these are
but flickers
in the dark.
True love does not
seek to conquer
or consume
our mortal souls.
It lifts us up;
and quells
our sorrows;
It comforts us
in dimmest
lights.
It does not replace
what we once were--
but enriches who we are
and resonates
throughout
our very being.
Don't let the iron cross
you bear upon your weary back
defeat you and remove
the fortitude and strength you carry.
The trials that we face
are not designed to crush our hearts
but rather, meant to test us
and prove we're worthy of human souls.
And though long blackness waits
for leagues beyond this journey's path
be comforted to know
that spots of joy dispel the shadows
(Not all light leads out of darkness
--but cherish still it lit the way.)
Do you believe
That those who wait
Are doomed to be
Ignored by fate?
Does wanderlust
Burn deep within
and flare unquenched
From dreams unlived?
Don't let your life
Be put to waste
And spent unlived
From lack of haste.
Take the risk
The leap of faith;
Start down the path
You wish to take
Go now before your life is done--
And seek beyond the setting Sun.
If only the bridges
that bound our souls
had not been made
of glass or wood.
If only the love
which once had shone
could now again
be lit anew.
But I warned you
on a summer's day
that hearts of gold
are far too pure
For the world moves on
and carries with it
only those
with hearts of stone.
Nothing true will ever last.
Don't lay to waste
your precious days
ruminating over trifle things.
Too much of value
slips past the edge
when led astray
by quick distractions
And bathed in light
or deep in shadows,
this too shall pass.
From dawn to dusk
on our brief journey
fleeting sparks
ignite our lives--
We rob ourselves
of precious value
when we fail to notice
what gives us life:
for the moments
we long for
are the memories
we live for.
"What happened to us?"
"What do you mean?"
"Half the time, you can't even look at me anymore."
"...."
"What is it? Do you think I'm fat? Is it because I bought that purse without telling you? Is that it?"
"No."
"Then what?"
"...."
"Tell me."
"Half the time, I realize how ugly you are on the inside."
"We can't stay in this playground."
"Shut up, dude."
"I'm serious, we're gonna get caught."
"Just hurry up and pass the piece."
"Fine."
....
"Man. This is some good shit."
"Ha ha."
