They rolled the dice, a twelve came up. The girl smiled but the people around her groaned, she moved her top hat a few a steps forward and got up abruptly.
"I WIN AGAIN!" she did a celebratory dance across the room as the other players rolled their eyes.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Go.
hordes of people started running maniacally, and each one of them for the same goal. The rush of adrenaline slowed down my vision, everything was blurry, I couldn't make out what was happening. I fell face forward as a group of people pushed me down.
The assignment is due tomorrow, but I hadn't started a thing. So much for getting good grades this year. I sighed and fell down on my bed, trying to convince myself that it didn't really matter.
She peaked out of the window, finally getting over the thundering noises. It was a whirlwind. She gasped, even though she knew it was coming. But seeing it made it more real.
It's more than just existing, as people say. But I don't believe that it's just an adrenaline rush that makes you 'alive' it's merely being happy, or content, at the least.
The sound of beeping echoed through the hospital hallways. People talking quietly, reassuring one another. A man in a white coat stepped out of a door. I stood up, waiting to hear the news.
"she's fine, but you have to patient," he said, a small smile appearing on his face.
There was fire in her eyes. She sucked in her breath. She was determined to win this thing. Losing was not an option.
"Are you free on Saturday?"
We were all gathered around the table. He was grinning like child, his eyes sparkling.
"Are you ready?" he asked cheerily, but he didn't wait for a response. He tugged the sheet that was covering the surprise. Everyone gasped in unison.
She tried every way possible, but she couldn't do it. She gave up.
