I fall onto the sidewalk, stone scraping against my skin.
I get back up, yelling at the bully. “Oi!”
He raises his hands in the air, laughing.
I send a flying kick into his stomach, but I miss, wind knocked out of me, and I fall onto the ground, beginning to cry.
“Reset the modem!” I scream as the power flickers off and my internet stops feeding life into my veins.
In a few moments, it flickers back on, and I breathe again, as I’m safe.
