He tires easily now. He's getting weaker by the minute, sicker every hour. His face turns a pale yellow, his red cheeks stand out in stark contrast. His usually grey eyes are bloodshot and watery. Despite all this, he looks at me and smiles. "I'll be okay," he says. I'll be okay.

I sit still and watch his lips curl into a smile. I study his face, because I know that, one day, I'll never see it again. His features will become a distant memory- the sharp points of his canines, the pink of his lips, the waves in his hair—they'll be forgotten. While I can, I sit in the moment, drinking him in.

We waited in the playground at burger king. I watched his face change from annoyance, to joy, to indifference as time passed. He was tired of waiting, but felt an obligation to. SO, at BK we sat. Being the awesome teens that we are.

I pressed my hand into the heat of his neck, flowing upwards through his dark locks. My hands were always cold. He is perpetually warm Perfection. And this is why we're best friends.

I was too preoccupied to notice you were hurting. I was too hung up on the times you hurt me to realize how much everyone was pushing you down. And, to be honest, I still don't care.

I have no clue. Port. That's where ships go. They sail all their lives, come home to their ports, and wait to be reincarnated into a new, exciting voyage. Port.

I spread my legs out on the couch, my toes facing her. She glanced down at my feet, and a fleeting expression of disgust flashed through her eyes. "WHAT?" I asked, jokingly. "You...you-" she giggled. " You have gorilla toes!"

He crouched down, ready to pounce on my back as I ran. I sprinted as fast as possible in my flips flops and he took off soon after, catching up with me and wrapping his arms around my torso, swinging me around in a playful embrace. Man. I love this kid.

I'll celebrate our loss. We fell out of practice, and in that time of isolation I cam to realize how wrong for each other we are. You are fake, two faced, vulgar, and greedy- I'll never know what I saw in you. And with this, I'll celebrate our end.
