"I'm no good for you! Why can't you understand that?"
"I can't just stay away from you. You're like a siren to me. Always calling me, pulling me in no matter what. I there's no hope for me without you."
"Just another few weeks."
"That's seems like a lifetime." She didn't want to sound like a whiner, but it had been months since she had seen her boyfriend. He'd been on the road for too long.
"I know, but think about how many weeks it's already been. This should be cake." She sighed.
"I just miss you."
"Dude, it's already doubled in size!"
"Just wait, it gets better."
"Tripled now!"
The two sisters stared into the microwave, watching in awe as the marshmallow bunny grew until it exploded and they cheered.
Until their parents walked in...
"Are you okay?" She sat at the lunch table, ignoring her friends' chatter. Her water bottle sat in front of her, her chin resting on it. Her food sat barely touched as she stared into space. The bags under eyes worried her friends.
"Are you okay?" If only she had an answer to that question...
"Wouldn't a telescope makes this better?"
"Nope."
"No? We'd be able to see more."
"But we'd miss out on how beautiful it is to stare at a night sky full of stars. I'd rather see the whole beautiful picture than a close up of one or two."
"True. This is beautiful."
“What was that?“
“It was nothing, you worry too much.” The man rolled his eyes at his girlfriend. Their relaxing camping trip was being ruined by her worries about bears.
“No really, I heard something.“
“Stop worrying, we took all the precautions to stay safe.“
“Then what is that?“
“Crap…that would be a bear cub."
