I wanted so much to see what lay beyond the mist...but fear restrained me. I was frozen...paralyzed by terror. Who knew what horrible things could be contained in that damp, dusky fog? Straining to see, craning my neck. No use. The mist would remain forever, obscuring the truth for all time....I remain forever lost...bewildered....
