The headphones I used when I painted that portrait were the best I've ever tried. The sound was clear. It was pure, and I felt wonderful listening to her beautiful voice while I worked. It was odd hearing her sing, especially with the knowledge that she had never been recorded.
He was just a little tiny thing in his blue seersucker jumper and bright red shoes. Did I tell you that the jumper was smocked with little red crabs? I was in love right away and knew that I had to paint him. Little, yes he was, and beautiful, that's definitely true too. But this kid had more. He had an aura that was the biggest I'd seen in a very long while.
Going the distance is something I don't really think about unless I look at the word. I guess that seems strange but because I was taught to always put my best foot forward, going the distance is just what I thought was expected. Today I'm thankful to have been taught this lesson.
