I used to get really excited about my birthday. But that's because I would get a lot of gifts and attention. But now as an adult, hardly anyone remembers anymore (much less gets me any gifts). Because of that, I no longer care about my birthday.
I generally love animals. But I'm also mindful that many of them can and will kill us, given the chance. I think people love animals (at least the small domesticated ones) because they give us what we perceive to be unconditional love. The kind of love that no other human can give us. They're not responsible for their actions. Everything they do is instinctive.
I live on an island that is the top of a mountain. The mountain is technically higher than some of the highest mountains in the world. We live on the tips of the volcanoes that poke above the surface of the ocean. Most of the mountain is below sea level and submerged. Sometimes I wish I lived in a mountainous region of the world that had actual seasons, but I don't.
Sunflower seeds are delicious. If you didn't have to peel them, they would be the perfect food. I remember eating sunflower seeds with my mom and my sister when I was young. These were the ones that you had to peel. I understand that they're really popular with soldiers and with Russians. Kansas is the sunflower state. We used to have a sunflower plant in our yard.
