This word makes me think of my mother and the batshit crazy diet shit that she worries about on a daily basis. Diet to her means not eating for days and then binging on whatever food someone else is making. It drives me insane to hear her talk about how she only eats salads for lunch and then watch her scarf down her weight in whatever is within reach.
