Scouting For Boys, a book written in turn of the century gave advice for how to save someone who's hung himself or tried to kill himself. I thought this was weird because the book is written for young boys who want to be boy scouts. Who wants to teach 10-year-olds that?
I don't think I have a lot of compassion, which is sad because a lot of people see it as a desirable trait. I can't help but not feel sorry for people who get themselves into situations and then expect help and people to feel sorry for them. It might make me a cold, mean person but I can't help it. I don't feel sorry for people who fucked up on their own.
