I dropped the candy bar at the counter, but the girl behind the register didn't notice. Her nose was buried in a magazine - one from the display, some movie star got fat. I cleared my throat in attempt to get her attention. She raised a (pierced) eyebrow, rolled her eyes and mumbled "eighty nine cents."

The corn guy down the street has his stand shut down because of zoning. Those bastards.

I don't know how I feel about banks, to be honest. You put money in them, but they end up making money off you with interest and all that.... All the banks are broke now. :(
