I try to list the channels in my mind (the ones on TV, the ones in my head, the ones on the Internet featuring contoured beauties and declarations for social justice) and they might as well all be muted, and I wonder how often there are repeats... Too often!

fun

Hah! Fun. Flagrant. At least one person ends up isolated when there's fun involved. It's hard to keep the energy of fun-filled situations equitable. Fun is more akin to mania than utopia.

I hope someday something inspires me to dismantle the floorboards beneath my feet and hide something precious down there; even better if I find something precious. There must be a lot of good bits of debris, or at least it will be peaceful.

An endless American highway - scuttling clouds the color of milk gone off - a bus fuming - its worn-out parts are vocal and inside they blast music and shout to drown out the mechanic noises...

Criss-cross forks-and-knives mark the table like insignias on playing cards... Each criss-cross shines slightly differently; the chandeliers swinging mysteriously overhead make the utensils shiver.

The glass of water is filled with lemon seeds. It's an icon on the bedside table. Why does it have so much personality? I sip it carefully throughout the night.

flex

Flex. Spread. Pull. My arms. My legs. Taut. Heaving. Taut. Tension. Taut. Deflating. My muscles. Feel them! Aren't they nice? Flexing, spreading pulling, heaving, deflating, taut taut taut until not.

bell

Elle est tres, tres belle... Sometimes, not always. Eye crust glitters in the morning when the sun hits her face and the silver bells that hang in her window, attached to the string that binds her curtain.

The market was bustling, of course. The market was battered by fabrics flapping in the wind, like a thousand tiny, confused sails.

We wave like fools - foolish if only because we're trying to amp up our Care by moving the air around us fast enough - as if we're trying to break certain physical and elemental laws with our love and prove its eternity and shift everything in our favor.
