  1. Fuck. I am so fucking pissed off. I apologize to anyone who is reading this, who is being affected by my negativity. But I hate that I have few friends I can even trust. I feel so alone all the time. I don’t need your pity, so don’t give it. I just needed to type this. Sorry.

  3. When we get together we’re the kids we used to be. It doesn’t matter even if we know one another. We’re from the same place – a place that made each of who we are. I wonder whether other g

  4. Alumni. That’s what we’d become. So strange to have been a part of the collegiate experience for four years and in one simple ceremony, we were, alumni. Old, boring, responsibility. That’s all I could think about while everyone else threw up their graduation caps, yelling and thinking about all the parties they’d be getting trashed at later.

  5. I never thought I’d get to this point. As a kid, high school seemed so far away. Now I’m considered an “alumni”. Who would have thought that? I used to dream of driving a car, now I’m driving it to a high school reunion…? Wow. Time flies.

  6. Alumni – the plural for what my darling fiancé is. He graduated two years ago and I shall graduate this year – how bittersweet it’s been! I love college but am ready to be an alumna, and to be with him for days on end without worrying about classes or when we’re both free for a phone call. <3 Love you, Colin!

  7. The alumni came in waves for the big event. The current students looked at them-don’t you have real lives, they thought? Why are you here, why would you come back here? The alumni walked around campus, feeling important, while the students walked around, wanting to feel the same way, wondering why anyone would ever come back here.

  9. A positive… The alumni secret handshake would be redefined. And no doubt improved!

    Talk about a somethin’ somethin’!

  10. Begins with an A and ends in an I. Sounds a bit like illuminated but it’s not the same meaning. This means someone of the past, someone who has had success and has been recognised for it. Alternatively it could be that people use your name to gain a better reputation for themselves. Universities do it to attract better students to make them aspire to the life they should have but chances are never will. So when you see that your favourite historian was an alumini at the university you want to go to, you feel the need to go there and you won’t accept anything less. Of course you’ll try to get your name illuminated in lights while in crippling debt so you can be like your history idol, but you know deep down you’re never going to be famous enough or successful enough to warrant a mention on the university’s Wikipedia page.

  11. i don’t know what to say about this… i mean like the JDS alumni are pretty cool and a lot of them are still my best friends today and i wish i could see them all but they’re in israel getting drunk and having sex with each other.. i wish i could be as free as they are right now.

  12. Instead of writing anything, here I sit. Mind blank. Staring at that purple line, ticking down the time. 10 seconds gone by. Now 15. Growing steadily darker. Impossible to ever get back.

I’m sorry if this means I’ve cheated. Ignoring the exercise completely. And yet I don’t care, because I feel as though I’ve learned something here… alumni.

  13. that’s a scary thought. oy. petrifying even. So far off, so much prospect involved in it, so much bundled up in one word. So much responsibility. a really, really REALLY scary thought. petrifying even.

  17. I just wrote a whole long thing about this word and then didnt fill out my name on accident. So now it is reloading. I don’t feel like re-expressing myself! hm. there you have it. This is pretty theriputic, huh? I keep spelling things wrong and using bad grammar.

  18. Aha, that word is like a little reel of tape in an old camcorder… the days when we wondered when our day would come to be called the elite. Indeed they were elite, they graduated the toughest classes in the Brotherhood.

  19. The alumni were centered around the old wooden table. Who can see us? Carla wondered to herself. it was like some shadowy figure had eyes on them. Even though she knew it wasn’t true. If they could see them assembled there, they’d know the truth. The truth being that they had come to take the school down. The school they used to love was going to burn. It would be the end.

  20. To be an alumni of a place, you are associating yourself with somewhere you have left, somewhere you have graduated from and moved on past. To be an alumni you are re-associating yourself with your past. A place you were probably itching to leave, counting down the days until you graduated, but now as an alumni you look back and want to be back there, you want to be the carefree kid without the responsibilities of the real world. As an alumni you are longing to live in your past as a student.

  21. I am part of the memorial university alumni. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2009. I get many extra perks for being part of this alumni. It is great.

  22. we’d better still be friends after school ends. actually, no, i’ll make sure that we are. i’ll drive halfway across the world to see you if that’s what it takes. i’ve learnt my lesson and i won’t have regrets this time around. i love you guys, even if i hate you sometimes too. <3

  23. what’s alumni? Never heard it before, but it sounds interesting and somehow misterious. Am I writing mysterious properly? I don’t know. What ever, who cares, no one know’s who I am. Just write, yeah, just write… So what am I writing now? Still about alumni? Hm, no clue what that is. Well I’m not completely a native speaker in English, so I can’t know.

  25. Seniority, now that was the feeling he craved. Knowing that he was a world above, knowing that he had shot for the moon and actually gotten there. One day, perhaps, this would happen. For now, he pushed the thought from his head and narrowed in on the gun’s trigger in his hand.

  26. Oh man, I’m going to be alumni of University of Washington… and when I am, that will mean that I am done with school! whoo! whoo! and hopefully, I will have a fairly decent paying job and have my own place and be happy… the ever illusive and marvelously wonderful happy. Oh so much to look forwaed to . gos

  27. Fallen through the clouds from so long ago the forgotten ones have lost their place in the sacred ruins they were assigned to protect. And so it was that they birthed monsters in their hearts and devoured the flesh of others. In time the great clans will seek revenge and the fallen’s annihilation.

  28. “Hi, my name is Ernest Byner, former member of the Cleveland Browns. Can you tell me where the pro players alumni charity basketball game’s being played?”

  31. The girl was the Alumni of the Community college down the street, but she OD’ed and killed herself on sleeping pills. Now everyone is very upset over what has happened. Someday someone will remember.

  32. The alumni gathered at their regular meeting place. They did the same thing every week, without thinking, just out of pure habit. They discussed things that could change the world, but never did. One day, they might just do something that matters. But for now, they are merely alumni.

    Michael Blighe
  33. Everybody stood in different parts of the room at the reunion, but it wasn’t the old cliques they were divided by; there were the ones who had been cool and those who hadn’t standing together. It would have been a picture of understanding and maturity, except that they were still in the same kind of gangs; bankers with other bankers, parents with other parents. High school stupidity hadn’t ended; it had just grown up.

  34. B steady is coming to our campus tonight for drag ball. I wish I knew her (or at least of her) when she went here. That would have been awesome. She seems really really cool. I wonder if I’d seen her around…she looks familiar, though she also looks like the “Oberlin Type,” so I’m not sure.

  35. Robert A. Millikan High School of Long Beach California
is the most academic school in the school district.
It’s got lots of history behind it, not just its age,
I had various parts of my family tree go to Millikan.

4 generations behind me, started the first Ripley Millikan student,
my grandmother, Donna Ripley, started in 1965 and graduated 1969.
My great uncle, Glen Ripley, came next, and he was the second of the Ripley’s,
started attending Millikan in 1973 and walked out in 1977.

My dad, Sean Ripley, went to Millikan as a freshman in 1984, the trouble maker,
he even rode the bike I have now to Millikan back in the day!
He was always getting into trouble and skipped school sometimes
to go get into MORE trouble or just hang with friends..he still graduated in 1988.

My uncle, Jason Thompson, went to Millikan a year after my birth in 1996,
he also was a trouble maker and was always getting into all kinds of trouble.
Many things had happened when he went to school at Millikan High,
he dropped out of Millikan in 1999, he would’ve graduated the following year.

My godsister, Jessica Bradshaw, came to Millikan in 2004,the night
she got her diploma, I was at my last 8th grade choir concert performance.
My dad watched half of the show we did, then left me without a name up on stage,
as he watched her graduate from the famous Robert A. Millikan High in 2008.

Now its my turn, and I am now attending Robert A. Millikan High School,
the day I graduated 8th grade at Alamitos Intermediate in Garden Grove..
after being away from Long Beach for two years, I knew I needed to go back,
so I started in ’09 and am now in my second year at Robert A. Millikan High School.

    It is now my sophomore year, and I’ve got 3 C’s, 2 F’s, a B and an A+,
I have been struggling a bit lately, I hope I can graduate in 2013 with my class.
I want to be just like my family, and hopefully I will make them proud,
because I feel like all my life, I have let them down with my school records.

Robert A. Millikan High School of Long Beach in the state of California
is the most academic school in the Long Beach Unified School District.
It’s got lots of history and meaning behind it, not just because its an old school,
I had many members of my family go to Millikan, time to make my Millikan Alumni family proud.

  36. alumni, who in their right mind will call a student and alumni? who even came up with the word? it makes us sound like worms of some sort, or maybe its just me. I don’t know and I don’t care who or whom came up with this.

  37. Alumni. On the back of license plates, it looked ridiculous, because if they’d really gone to university they’d know alumni was plural and unless more than one person in the car had attended that particular institution, the driver was an alumnus. Alumna, if one wanted to be modern and politically correct, but the Romans were none of those things.

Alex satisfied herself with a SPQR on her license plate and let most of the plebeians puzzle it out for themselves.

  38. colleges, going to school, being smart or not being smart enough. pennstate college. or not going to college. college graduate. growing old in school. being in school, living in school. school.
