  8. Her apron hung low on her frame. She walked across hard wooden floors in her victorian home like the ghost she now is in my mind. She slept She dreamt, she lived. Or rather she had a life of sorts, complete with strife and the agony of the doldrums.

    Chuck Lit

  11. The apron still smelled like her perfume. As he closed his eyes and inhaled, he could almost remember her laugh, remember her bright smile every time she tugged on the apron. He remembered how she loved to wear it to bake cookies, always getting flour on herself on purpose. Unless she actually tried, she never got very dirty, and she didn’t see the point in wearing an apron, in even cooking, unless you got dirty.

  12. He didn’t wear aprons, because he was scared they would cramp his style.
It had already been cramped enough, what with that whole ‘incident’ last week. Would I ever get over it, he wondered. He wasnt the type of person to do such things, no matter how hard he tried.

  13. My grandmother shook her head in disbelief as I tied the apron around my waist. In her time, it was a woman’s responsibility to take care of the household. Cooking was something men only did once in a while, on a whim.

  14. The apron stage allowed closer contact with the audience. I watched the curve at the edge of the stage from the wings with some trepidation. This was my first stage performance and I was feeling so sick with fright that my index finger traced a line across the wall and dabbed at the fire alarm.

“Grandma would have loved to see you in that.” Her mother said from the doorway, a sad smile on her face.

Tears sprang to her eyes and she smiled. “Yes, she would.”

  22. Aprons are for sissies. If you are really worried about your clothes, wear a lab coat. If not, then no need for an apron. Unless, you are trying to get a different kind of attention.

    Cynthia Davidson
  23. As she walked toward me she removed her apron and let it fall to the floor. Her eyes were fixed on mine as she moved closer and closer. As she reached me and I could feel her lips as I though she would kiss me, but she pulled out a knife and stabbed me.

    John Wilkerson
  24. I never knew anyone who wore an apron until I got a job at a grocery store. Then I wore one. I don’t like it. It’s maroon and feels like it’s made out of burlap. It’s more like canvas. It hurts my neck after too long. At my other job, a gay guy wears an apron all day long.

  32. The world spun into cakes, pies, and cookies. A small woman wearing a flour covered apron smiled down at the children and sold them pies.
The angry old man glared at the children and the apron and gave the pies.
The children looked at both equally, and always gave the old woman a nickel for their pies.

  34. She loved the apron, it wass more dear to her then her husband. It was her favorite child and her walks under a moonless sky. It was the scent of fresh pies baked by her mother. The apron was worth more than her own life. It was hers, and her life. To destroy it would be to destroy her, to stain it would be to stain her.

    Chrys Wise

  37. I gathered all the cooking utensils I needed and put on my apron, it was black, slightly too big but I liked it. It had been my mother’s and if I looked at it closely I could still see the blood stains from when she had used it, sometimes I wanted to add to them but at the same time I didn’t want to ruin it with my amateur display of skills. So I wore a diffewrent apron over it until I felt skilled enough to wear hers properly.

  38. Never worn one, my mother didn’t wear one. Mostly seen them on TVs, old-time TV shows, or occasionally modern ones with actual chefs.

  40. He tied his mother’s apron around his waist and he took out all the ingredients he would need. He had made this recipe a million times before with his mother, so this wouldn’t be a new thing for him. He put in the flour, milk, two eggs, a splash of olive oil, and began to beat the batter like a professional.
