  12. The apron is small. It doesn’t fit around my waist, and the strings are so loose, but I pull it on anyways. I remember being five, the strings dangling like small lights in Christmas trees, holding the apron steadily, wanting to wear it, to wield it like an arrow. It has power, dignity. Whoever wears this apron holds the magical powers, the keys to the kingdom. And now I can wear it- it is mine now. And now everything has changed

  14. One day i was cooking in my kitchen and spilled spaghetti all over my favorite apron. I was so depressed but at the same time relieved; i needed a new apron. It was very tattered and worn, but had this intrinsic value to it. It was passed down to me from my grandmother, who immigrated here from Italy in 1890.

  19. one of my best friends created a really awesome apron for her dad. it has pockets and stuff. he uses it to grill out. he keeps matches and other things in the pockets, so he can light the grill. i think it’s a charcoal grill, which in my opinion give a flavor that no gas grill can replicate.

  38. My mom wears an apron every Christmas. It says “HO HO HO” in big red letters. She doesn’t get the irony. It only comes out at Christmas, and I can’t even remember the exact year it came out. I love it, I love her in it. She’s so happy around the holidays and nothing says happy like big red HO HO HO’s.
