  1. asthma is something my brother had as a kid. its somthing i pretended to have as a rebellious adolescent trrying to get out of gym class. it was the perfect excuse: easily believable and hard to prove. the reason why i always walked the 1/2mile in gym.

  2. my friend had asthma once, he would always talk about how he needed to have his inhaler with him at all times. It bugged the crap out of the rest of us, and so one day we hid his inhaler in the bottom of one of our desks, and he would search around frantically even though he had no trouble breathing. He ran around so much though trying to find it that he did have an asthma attack right then and there. My friend had to give it to him and admit that he took it, he got in trouble for it

  3. this is a serious desease…this is something tht really leaves you breathless…like whenever u wanna do something important in your life like get a new appartment with your girlfriend or brag about your dog you’de have to face that important burden which is asthma….

  4. I knew a girl once. She would leave class. She would curl up in the principals office. Our school was new you see, there wasn’t a sick bay yet. She would curl up like a cat when she felt ill, curl around a cushion. One day she left however, and she never came back. She was only 9. But she was gone.

  7. There is no more scary feeling in the world than to be robbed of your breath. To feel the tightening in your throat as your lungs scream for air. The involuntary hitching as your body tries to breathe and nothing happens. Your head begins to feel disconnected from your body, your brain is raging but your body is unable to respond. Your vision blurs, your eyes begin to close, and you slip slowly and terrifyingly into nothing as you lose consciousness. To sleep? To sleep, perchance to dream? Aye, there’s the rub.

  11. It wouldn’t catch. The breath just stopped in the middle of her throat and seeped back out into the room. Her head was starting to swim and the room was unsteady.

    i have a friend who has it and she says her medicine is what keeps her alive.
    asthma is awful but i believe you still have a chance. you still have a chance, don’t lose hope.

  13. The asthma was what kept her going. She was out of breath but she wanted to go further, push herself, make it to the next line. Even if she collapsed straight after making it to the finish, a part of her would be happy that she beat the thing that had been dragging her down all her life.

  14. what’s the word for it? hate. i hate this. the laughing. the sighing. the breathing deep. the eyes rolled in perfect unison. that’s allergy. that’s lethargy. one day when we’re all better we’ll breathe. one day when we’re all better, it will make sense. for now, we sigh. we laugh and sigh. we wonder if it will ever get better.

  17. Asthma, never really had it and don’t really want it. My friend has asthma although I don’t know whether she’s impressing me or not because she plays soccer.

  18. She inhaled, but it hurt badly. “Are you having an asthma attack?” her brother asked, placing a hand on her back. She nodded, and motioned to her drawer. He quickly dove in, and grabbed her inhaler. “Here…calm down. Everything’s okay.” he said quietly to her.

  19. I know a girl who has or had asthma. she was called miranda zeitlin. she still goes to my school, but as to whether she still has it or was fortunate enough to grow out of it, i don’t know. The only incident that I truly remember was in my truly horrendous music class, where she started coughing; our teacher told us not to stare.

  27. my cousin has asthma, i am really lucky that i don’t have it. people get really winded when they walk up the stairs if they have asthma and sometimes they can’t be around animals. and that just sucks.

  28. my uncle has asthma. he doesnt let it stop him. he is a hard worker and is always active. My uncle is a very healthy man, he works out everyday and is always on the go.

  30. IS A sickness which makes you your breath shorter and have you be short of breath. Sudden attacks can occur. People with this disease need to have enough air to be stable.

  34. A silent enemy. It’s one and only mission is to inhibit its victims from enjoying physical excersize. Nothing good ever comes out of it. I’ve got asthma, and it’s not pretty. For such a tiny word, it sure is a big pest.

  35. There one was a kid with asthma. He had only recently been diagnosed and was feeling horrible about it. During Physical Education, he cried because he could not do what he was able to do before, and could only watch his friends having fun. And then he cried, all alone because his friends left him, mostly because they were stupid and had no idea what asthma even was, just assuming it was contagious. This one asthma child wrote a depressing autobiography that accomplished nothing and died from a car accident. The end.

  39. Not being able to breathe. That’s my fear. My cousins have asthma. How does it feel? I had the air knocked out of me once and I didn’t know what to do. I can’t breathe. Ever feel that way? Asthma in life? Just so much that there’s nothing? Can’t breathe. Can’t breathe. Too fast. Sixty seconds just isn’t enough.

  40. I fished around in my backpack to find the small, elusive inhaler to control my asthma. I found it and sucked in a large breath. Relief came immediately and I made my way down the lonely hallway to return to class. I walked through the door and slipped into my seat in the back row. I tried to avoid the teahcer’s criticizing gaze.
