  7. hahaha acne! spots of skin that appear unclear and unattractive. why am i defining the word “blotches”? i am supposed to write about it. theris probably so much more i could say about blotches. oh well. generally a teenage problem. not fun to have. i’ve had them before. i normally do, but they are usually not to obvious on me. thank God. but i use some skin products sometimes. Neutrogena cleanser or soap followed by water-based moisturizer. when it gets bad, i use some alcohol to extract the acne and impurities from my pores.

  9. Blotches of ink sat on the page in front of me. My tear stained face hid in my palms. Nothing was the same, nothing. I couldn’t write, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t love. Nothing since you’ve left. Nothing. Just these silly blotches of ink that lay before me.

  10. The bruises were in blotches across her skin almost making it look like she had a skin disease. No one question where they came from and if they did she wouldn’t answer. It’s not that she didn’t know but if she told on him it would ruin everything that was going for her mother an she couldn’t stop that. She couldn’t talk about how at night her step father would come into her room as her drunken mother would lay on the couch passed out. How when he was in her room he would crawl into her bed. How if she fought him he would hit her. He was rich and her mother wasn’t so why would she take that away from her. He did make her mom happy when she was awake and sober as rare as that was she wasn’t going to ruin the small grain of happiness her mother experienced for her own needs. That would be selfish and if there was one thing she wasn’t it was selfish.

  11. i wake up in the morning go to the bathroom sink and lok at my face. It is covered in red spolotch blotches, i knew i shouldn’tof gone out last night with my friends but i couldnt help it it just looked so fun, how was i supposed to say no? I dab on some coverup, ok it just looks like a severe red- face-asitus and can totally face my parents.Not.

    they reminded me of those little amoebas on the kids show Aurthur.

  13. blotches remind me of when my best friend lost her virginity. we decided to betray our parents and go stay at his apartment. i fell asleep on the floor. her boyfriend woke her up and made her have sex with him. she woke up and had blotches of his semen all over her.

  14. Everyone has blotches. Some physical, some emotional, some big, some small. The trick is finding your blotches and not swiping them over with a slab of slightly obvious paint, but finding the right shade of whatever it is you are missing and giving yourself a daily dose.

I feel anxiety run over me with these red blotches that appear they look like fire and feel the way the feathery grass looks in those photographs hanging above your bed frame as I lie awake at 4 am staring at the clock knowing that in a few hours you will wake up and place your feet on the carpet your aunt loves so much and pull your scrubs over your head and leave me for work where a million things will run through your head and i hope I am one of those things.

  24. Honestly, I see this word and I think Pinky and the Brain. Ink blot tests or whatever the hell, that’s just the recurring thought that comes to mind. I hope tomorrow’s word is a little more jazzy, because blotches sounds as splotchy as it looks.

    But to me, they’re a representation of what one has been through. Experiences people have had. Knowledge people have gained. Love someone has felt.

  26. I like to shovel snow in the dark. I go out, it’s quiet, the snowflakes sparkle from the street light. I start to carve out a path. The shovel makes a scraping noise and it’s kind of a neat sound. The cold air gives me blotches.

  28. sometimes i see ink blotches on paper and the way it expands, moves through limestonuous lines through the paper intrigues me. Its as if there is no rhyme or reason, but this is the way humans interpret at a glance that which can be explained with investigation and consideredness.

  30. They really have no redeeming qualities. In fact, I can’t think of a good connotation anyone can give to blotches – ink blotches, skin blotches. You gotta think ugly when you think blotches.
