  1. I do think nothing about this word. May be holidays or some other occasions when people send greetings to each other. There are also different electronic devices the names of which contain this word

  2. The cards were still standing on the mantlepiece. In a way she felt that if she took them down it would be accepting what had happened. So they stayed there, now a month after his birthday. Seemed silly some days and she had even stacked them up ready to throw away once or twice, but returned a few hours later to place them all back neatly.

  3. Cards are fanciful treats that people give to each other on birthdays, weddings and after someone died. They can be made from paper or cardboard and sometimes food. They can also be played for money in Vegas by old people, young people and people who love to lose money in games like Blackjack. Cards are more fun to receive than give.

  4. I played cards a little in high school, but I didn’t know what I was doing at all (to a laughable extent.) Around the age of 23, for what reason I don’t completely recall, I quickly fell in love with poker and dove head first into learning the game. After about seven years, I can say that I have so much to learn, but I’m amazed by how far I’ve come.

  5. cards are fun to play with, you can play very many diffrent games with them. My personal favorite is poker, since it involves mostly thinking and reading the other players. this of course is mostly true about texas hold em poker. The best use for cards of course, is as explosives, like gambit from xmen. hes bombass and a b

  6. I’ve never been able to build a house of cards, or anything with cards for that fact. Those skinny little pieces of cardboard that they call cards always fall down.

  7. i love playing cards but i hate responding to cards. i think paying $5 dollars for a card is ridiculous. I’d rather tell the person how I feel about them instead of giving them a commercialized piece of paper.

  8. 52…52 individual things of play….each different and unique yet paired into groups, pitted against each other if you will. Neither knowing of their place or why, just that they are and always have been. Never questioning never understanding, simply….are.

  9. wow!! very cool , I think that this is the remarkable state of mind and soul.

  10. Cards are an important part of everyone’s career. No they are not. Cards are a good game to pass time. Guys play them, girls play them, you can use them to drink with, old people love them, you can use them on planes during take off, you can use them on boats, in cars, on space ships, in bathrooms, in Vegas, not in Vegas.

  11. I LOVE TO PLAY CRIBBAGE WITH MY BOYFRIEND. OUR SKILLS ARE EVENLY MATCHED SO IT IS A BATTLE EACH TIME WE PLAY. I ALWAYS BEAT HIM IN PEGGING, BUT HE ALWAYS GETS LUCKY AND GETS HIGH CARDS IN HIS CRIB. i LOVE TO SHARE THE JOY OF PLAYING CARDS WITH MY BOYFRIEND.

  12. Those are the things that you give someone when you are thinking about them. It can either be a birthday card, or a card just to say hi. You can use cards to say you are sorry. They are ways of expressing feelings. While they may seem to be things created by society, they help out those people that do not know how to express their feelings.

  13. don’t be hard from like just friends guys don’t trust hey maybe not i got confused like poem ? maybe not someting jokes ? perhaps i too you gilllllllll known for green and healed all the mofo

  14. A card house. A hand of cards. A “just thinking of you” card. What do they all mean? The mean fragility. They’re the meaning of the game. They’re a manipulation tool. I won’t be a card. I won’t live in your card house. And I won’t accept “just thinking of you”s any more.

  15. Cards are written out of obligation and desire to fulfill the stereotypical roles. They are full of words and unspoken words, things that you say but do not mean. Anyone can easily write ‘Happy Birthday’ into a card for the person who broke their heart, the person who they want to have the least happy birthday possible. To me, cards are a waste of paper, a waste of trees. Things are easy to lie about when you’re writing, the people who mean the words say them out loud. From others.. they are meaningless

  16. CARDS oh wow I am really stupid. Well anyway, I recently made homemade valentines day cards for all of my friends. I sent out about twenty of them and I only recieved 7 responses. Some friends? But whatever, you can’t stress. Even if noone else cares it is still a good thing that I still care right? I believe I am right.

  17. i dont know why they would call it “one” word when it is actually two words, two words is actually two words. I think it is a rather silly topic but whatever who really cares. how do they expect you write about something that is titled one words.. but im actually writing about sixty thousand words??? puzzles my brain.

  18. fucking hallmark shit. they mean nothing besides the action of obligation behind them. they are insincere and you should just be able to say it all in person. phony motherfucking shit. unless they’re homemade.

  19. I fill the cards up with my cardiac muscle.

  22. why do people try to make a house of cards? who’s gunna live there?
and greeting cards are stupid. people should just say how they feel. don’t let someone else put words in your mouth.

  24. She tapped the top of the deck with her finger.

“It’s in the cards, Roger. The cards. It was meant to be.”

Finishing my sherry, I regarded her across the table, calming myself for the outburst about to come.

“Mary, ” I began, “This sherry has a piquant bouquet not unlike your own womanly musk. I would like to harvest your essence to create an aperitif I call: ‘Mary Sherry’.”

A bead of sweat crawled its way down my temple, but to my surprise she spoke not a word. Instead she picked up the deck and began shuffling the cards, occasionally drawing one from the top and placing it face up between us:

    Eight of Spades.

    Three of Diamonds.

    King of Clubs.

“Oh, Roger,” she breathed, eyes widening at the sight of the King. “My essence. I give it to you. Gladly.”

  27. I feel like a house of cards. I’m paper thin and ready to fall at any given moment. I’m tired of being built up and up just to be let down again. I want to be made out of something more sturdy. Like bricks. How often do you see a house of bricks get blown over? Never.

    Mariah
  28. Birthday cards, Christmas cards, Easter cards, Valentine Cards…they have cards for everything!! But why do we send each other little pieces of paper and feel that we have done our duty rather than visiting the people we love. Why do we spend so much time filling out cards at Christmas but not seeing anyone? Strange isn’t it, what our world is coming to?

    Tanya
  29. I played with cards for the first time when I was a boy. It is difficult to remember the rules of the games, especially if you don’t play often. I’ve also found it difficult to remember magic tricks made with cards. Why is that? I love card tricks.

    Andy Ehrensberger
  30. When i play cards it’s fun, i love all the different shapes and colors, its surprising because there are so many games you can play with only 52 cards.

  31. No man chooses the card hes dealt, you either quit or play em like you get em. Life is the play of the cards. Everyone knows that. And right now I’m thinking about quitting. I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this. Life is too fucking unfair.

  32. cards are a game of occult but no luck can be found from it. trees grow and cards are made but no meaning can be found to describe the power and evil that once was found in the game of cards. blackjack, poker, it does not matter for what can come from a game of the supernatural? maybe it will be understood one day.

    sam

  35. Birthday/ Anniversary cards are what you MAIL TO PEOPLE. THEY BRING PEOPLE JOY, SO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE OVERPRICED IS IRRELEVANT. THEY ARE USUALLY MADE OF PAPER. THEREFORE THEY LEAD TO THE DEFORESTATION OF THE PLANET.

    Bob
  36. after the cards had fallen from the table, the boys and girls scrambled from their knees to try to pick up as many as possible in the short amount of time. the delight in their eyes echoed in the grandfather’s face, and their shrieks of joy as they fought over one card would be remembered for always.

  40. The box is overflowing, some blood stains the inside lid and the bottom. I should really get rid of this evidence. I never really thought it was wise to steal business cards from each of these corporate-type men I’ve been killing, but the voice inside my head demands it.
