  7. Charge into the open with fist in the air, teeth clenched around tongue, and eyes wide to the nothingness. Charge into the sky only to fall, falling still, and yet still. The world becomes still as you reach the singularity, the point of no return. The question escapes the mind quicker than the speed of light. Quantum entanglement, the process of life after death, life before death, all time at once and never at all. Charge the creator for the price of the fallen. The count was beyond reason; someone had to be held responsible.

    Davis
  8. I wasn’t meant to be put in charge so it really sucks when I am. I’m a follower. I’m that one sheep that follows what all the other sheep are doing but hates it. I fucking hate following but it’s what I do. It’s what I am.

    strange sort of cynicism
    The kind that allows for hope

    he is the monk,
    the self-sacrificer.
    He leads the charge against injustice
    and he fights the demons of the world
    with truth-weapons.
    He says,
    I See You
    I Know You
    and the shadows run.

  13. To battle stations, men!
    Stand tall.
    Now is the day to win it all.
    Line up in rows,
    Infantry leads,
    Behind the court lords and ladies
    Will stand and cheer,
    Though mightier all
    Than those sent first.
    The opposition seems
    To be of similar mind;
    Look how they mirror our own ranks,
    Direct against our line.
    They seem differed
    But by appearance,
    And only slight at best,
    But I digress;
    Charge forth ye mighty,
    Headstrong pawns –
    Let’s start this game of chess!

The old lady next to me looked at me and smiled, “I’ll pay for the cents.” I smiled at her and took my place in line behind her. The clerk scowled at me as soon as I walked up to pay for my gummy worms. The gummy worms were only $1.50. Before he rung up my candy, the screen that told me the amount I had to pay already had $2.00 showing. After he rung up my candy and put it in the bag, I handed him $1.50. “Keep the change.” I said, and grabbed my gummy worms and left.

Now seriously irritated, the colonel bellowed, “Belvedere, come HERE boy!” Still no response. “Insubordinate!” the colonel grumbled on his way to Belvedere’s station. He pounded on the roof of the dog house. “BOY! Show your delinquent self immediately!” No response from within the house.
