  1. Today we fought with Mr. King against his oppressors. It was weird being a white person among so many darker women. I felt like I was doing something good though, something kids would one day learn about and that makes all the difference.

  4. this is what you do when you’re showing someone something, or explaining it. Like let’s say you have a new gadget or toy, you can demonstrate what it is by using it, and showing people how it works and stuff like that. Ex i can demonstrate how to use my new toy airplane.

  5. A demonstration could be where a person shows you how to do something. A person is teaching a skill or helping somebody out with a task. It helps the person gain the ability to do what they are demonstrating. It can also be a form of protest.

    But right now…. I am going to ACT in accordance to what I say. To DEMONSTRATE that what I say to him has meaning.

  19. Tomorrow is International Women’s Day, and I think of the women who had the nerve, as suffragettes, to demonstrate publicly with their intentions to recognized as legitimate people, not possessions or decorations.

  20. It was nothing fancy. Well, maybe it was… but who were they to call her conceited? Just because she liked to show off a little? Just because she knew she was the greatest huntress in the entire neighborhood– no! In the entire city! So there was a dead mouse on the doorstep every few days. Wasn’t that what she was supposed to do? A demonstration not only of her skills, but of her love for her owners. Wasn’t that what being a house-cat was about, after all?

  27. a demonstration is how you show someone something about a certain thing. You explain and show how to do something, using physical gestures as well as vocal. It’s a good and affective teaching method.

  28. I think about sensation and perception. Dr. Cooper does lots of demostrations about the vision system (that’s what we’re learning about right now). He is such a fantastic teacher. I love this class. I love Iowa state. Its the best college. I am sad that I am going to be leaving in May.

  30. “Right! Left! Right! Up! Down! Left!” The Instructor barked at the two students in the chalk circle as their staffs clicked against each other rhythmically. “This is how you do it. Get in pairs and follow the demonstration!”

    The rest of the students scrambled to obey and in no time the echoes of dozens of staffs tapping against each other filled the yard with the Instructor’s barked directions. “Down! Right! Up!”

  34. I once gave a demonstration about how to arrange flowers, in fifth grade. It was our speech requirement. I got one of the highest grades in the class, and even got out of school for a day to learn about how to do it. At the time, I thought I had found my calling! But then I realized flower arranging wasn’t really a good calling.

  39. It was going to be awful. I could just tell. I didn’t want them to demonstrate on me, but there was nothing I could do. They had complete control over me now, I was just a part of the act….

  40. I am all about demonstration of emotions. I don’t know what makes me think that’s right, or healthy…or that others are as well. Like you need to show me everything you’re thinking and feeling otherwise I won’t understand it. We are supposed to have a deep connection but it hurts me when you demonstrate goodwill to others and not me? Isn’t that the very nature of the “close connection” dummy? Yeah. I forget that part
