  5. Ahh the past has come back again. A time where I hide behind my make-up and disguised who i was. A time of darkness that i mocked with dark eyeliner. God removed my darkness and cleaned my eyeliner appearance and made it beautiful.

  6. My sister stole my eyeliner. Bitch. Not really. I love her too much to yell at her for it…so I’ll go eyelinerless for a while I guess…sigh.

  7. I grabbed my eyeliner and lined my eyes with it. Make me feel pretty so I can be treated like a better man. When his dick is in me, I know my eyeliner got me my prize. My eyeliner will take me places no man has ever gone before. I don’t know what I’d do without my eyeliner, but I’m going to keep it with me forever. Or die

  8. i have never been one for makeup. Just didn’t like the feel of something between the air and my skin. But as I have matured, shall we say, I feel like my eyes are growing smaller and smaller amidst the sea of wrinkles around my eyes and eyeliner is like the life preserver keeping them visible. I can’t even leave the house without it now.

  9. For many women, it’s what defines them. It draws attention to or away, it defines boldly, or detracts demurely. It’s bright or dark or racy, just like the woman wearing it. A symbol of inner girl.

  11. I looked at the canvas, wondering what was missing. I hurried out, only to return a minute later with the triumphant look of someone who is about to do -and get away with doing- something they probably shouldn’t. The face in the portrait stared solemnly back at me, as I gently and quietly applied the kohl under her eyes.
Later that night, my sister told me it was the eyes of the woman in my painting that she loved the most. “They almost look real”, she whispered. “Well, I wouldn’t be surprised,” I couldn’t help but chuckle as I thought “…she’s wearing your make-up!”

  13. Even though you bought me a different one to the one I asked for and I was really ungrateful and dismissed the gift, I get more compliments when I use it than at any other time. I suppose I am not always right. Thanks for making me look so cute.

  14. I remember when eyeliner was so important to me — to get it on just right. I loved the whole eye make-up thing. But now I wear glasses, and I don’t put eye make-up on any more. I love to see what other people do with their eye make-up though — the wilder the better!

  15. Omg I love using eyeliner…not really eyeliner tends to make me cry and I play sports alot so I dont want people asking me why Im crying during the event or meet. So im scared of wearing makeup or any type of eyeliner at all. Or else I might me considered a wimp. PEACE OUT!!!

  17. Kohl, poisons, a mask. Raccoon stares from across the room. Let us draw more attention so that when morning comes we can look like the strangers that we feel.

  18. Her eyes were red from crying. Somehow, rimming them in thick brown eyeliner seemed right, steadying, like following her normal routine in spite of the fact that her world was falling apart would fix things. She knew that it just made the bloodshot state of her eyes more startling, but she didn’t care. She wanted things to be normal, even if it was just a little bit, even if it was just on the surface.

  19. My friend was poked in the eye today. We just took a big test and we were talking about the answers. This one girl got really excited because we all got the same answer and went to high five us, and she missed my friends hand in her excitement, instead striking the upper left face region, including the eye. Her eyeliner ran from the reflex tears.

  20. . . . . runs down my face as I read the obituary over my morning coffee: “Survived by her son and three grandchildren, she was a prize-winning baker famous for her lemon merengue pie.”

  22. Girls waiting in line for colors that make the windows of their soul spill a message….sometimes you wonder why there is so much to dress the superficial but not as much to dress the soul.

  23. I never really got the opportunity to wear eyeliner. I was in a play once, a Musical spinoff of Alice in wonderland, and they were trying to make us all wear makeup. I’d be dammed if they were going to doll me up. So i somehow managed to escape the dreaded eyeliner, and to this day have never had another eyeliner experience.

  25. Although strangely named for a pet crocodile, Eyeliner was the best friend any little kid could have. I still remember walking the scaly old reptile across the park, scaring all the old ladies and little kids away. Ah, such good times were had. But then, she died.

  26. Eyeliner reminds me of emos and girls the only 2 things that remind of it. Girls I can understand but guys are another story because when they put it on they look like fags.

  33. I hate wearing eyeliner — it feels as though everything makeup is is just another thing to hide myself with.

The world has an expectation of who I am, who I present myself to be.

Nobody is ever who someone else expects them to be.

Give it up world, our vanity isn’t worth the cost it is to everyone around us, regardless of their expectations. What a vicious cycle of apathy. I hope it fades.

  34. The eyeliner was everywhere but her eyes. They always told her that she would thank them later, but right now all it felt like was strings at her wrists tugging in every direction she didn’t want to go. Why can’t they see that the only thing she wants is right in front of her? Right in front of them? He’s simply across the table.
