My relationship and daily time with God. The ability to get away from the busyness to get clarity and clear perspective and the ability to show up everyday with the mindset if I can control my thoughts It will help me control my words, which will control my behaviors. If I put all of these together by staying consistent I will be a better servant.

In the middle of a thought I let a wif of contradiction breeze thru. Sniff I had it, sniff it’s gone. Not even on topic but the weebl
i saw you
from the other side
of the inlet,
face red,
fists clenched.
so i swam,
and paddled
until i reached you
face red,
hands open.
you embraced
my shivering body
with your warm arms
and said:
next time let’s meet
in the middle
but thank you
for coming all the way.
She grew up on the water, and every day that weather permitted, which was nearly every day in her sunny little hometown, she’d walk down to the little inlet just a few hundred feet from her front steps and go for a swim. She didn’t know why she did it every day, only that it felt good, to submerge herself in that clear blue water and let her thoughts fall away for a little while. Her sisters never understood it — they liked the water fine, but they preferred more earthbound pursuits.

In the harbor, the sea kissing the shore, the land hugging the waves, never staying but not quite leaving, always having a place to return to.
There was truly nothing special about the inlet. It sucked water like a thirsty child, rerouted all paper boats with a reckless passion, and overall was a blight on the wider water system. Twice he had gone down to the water in an attempt to reroute the waves, and twice he had returned soaked, efforts throughly thwarted. He was put out, and maybe a touch obsessed at this point, when he inquired about how one would go about building a dam.
I actually had no idea what this word properly meant, spent about 30 seconds just searching it up and reading about it. It’s water that trickles from a large body of water to land.

This body of water is in between two parts of the village. No one knows why it was there, no one cared too much to do something to it.
Somehow it became a third place. No reason whatsoever. Simply existing for existing. Be there for people who just want something.
