  1. Sometimes miracles happen, sometimes they don’t. sometimes you’ve just got to suck it up and move on when they don’t. sometimes they happen and change everything – and sometimes they happen when you don’t want them too. and that’s the worst. when the miracle is someone falling in love with you when they said they never would, and you realise you don’t love them back.

    Molly Falconer
  2. miracles are things that Jesus Christ performed. Many common day miracles still happen, as Forrest Gump says. One example of a miracle, is the miracle of the accidental finding of penecilin.

    Barnsey
  3. It was truly a miracle that I did not explode like a volcano. Liars whoever they are should not be accepted in society, I mean why do people feel the need to tell them. Miracles are a thing of the past, how could they exist when nobody tells the truth. It’s tiresome, and gets old very quickly

  4. It is what makes the world go around. It is the every day. The every note, the every person. Feeling like you have it all is nothing and everything at the same time. It is my baby. It is my husband. It is waking up every morning. It is prayer. It is stillness. It is me. It is.

  5. How will we know? Will there be sudden cracks of thunder and locusts descending upon us? Or a storm of unhindered rage and power to flatten? Will there be trumpets heralding due miracles of biblical inspiration and scale? One day the moon will fall into the fields and we’ll stab at it with trowels and spades like unsure cavemen excavators.

  6. Is finding something that makes you complete. Something that makes all the bad things in your life worth while. Something that is absolutely amazing and frees you of every issue you have ever had.

    Crystal Casey
  7. When a boy and a girl meet and the other boy likes her back, and they date each other :)

    Aleah
  8. Something that you never expected to happen is a miracle because you never had faith or hope in it , never knowing it will happen or exist.

  9. “It’s happening…I can’t believe it, it’s happening!”
He spoke softly as she approached him, so many years since as children they said they would find each other…now the day was here, and dressed in white lace she walked down the aisle towards him.

  10. It is miracle that I am still here to write this. God did not want me yet. Amen.

  11. a miracle is something I really want given at the right time. I wish everything was great right now. All turned out for the better. Love, stability, security, inspiration, time, freedom, home, house, countryside, near city, friends.

  12. This was yesterday’s word, too. I swear to God. Is it Groundhog Day?

  13. All the things I see every day in my life. Miracle is what I experienced for the past two weeks of vacation; first, in Oklahoma with my lover and his family, and second, at Burning Man in Black Rock City, NV. Miracle are my children and the beauty they bring into my life. Miracle is love, which is what I feel for my friends, family, pets, earth, stars, space, and especially myself.

  14. I hear a lot of things being called miracles. Like when people find something they’d lost, or when a baby is born. The earth itself and human existence could be a miracle. Is it a miracle when someone dies accidentally who’d committed a murder? Are the things Jesus did a miracle? I really don’t know…

  15. It would take a miracle for me to be with him. It would take a miracle to make me stop wanting to be with him. I don’t know which one I want more.

  17. Miracles are pretty cool. I can’t claim to have experienced any myself. An important thing to acknowledge when speaking about miracles is that you often don’t know they’ve happened until much later.

  18. It’s a miracle…that I’m actually here…now. I didn’t think I was going to walk away from that…I didn’t think he was going to stop.
I’ve always thought there should be a law about that…smoking while driving.
He dropped the cigarette…I guess it was burning his lap. But… I didn’t think he was going to stop the lorry, that moment, that terrifying moment…I thought I was going to die.

  19. The thing that happens when you stop looking for the solution and except that the world is the place to be for the time being. When you do it will allow you expericnce everything as if it were new. No thought no bias just living as an animal.

  20. it’s a miracle that i can think about anything to write about this! miracle is a movie about the USA men’s olympic hockey team and i had a friend in high school whose father was actually on the team, the kid was obnoxious we all hated him so he left school. babies are miracles and it’s a miracle anyone survives their birth or their teen years if you ask me.

    Vigneswaran
  22. It was a miracle. Her eyes opened, and she still knew how to speak. She remembered her name and she wasn’t even worried or hurt. Somehow, the surgeons pulled through to make it so she was able to come out of her operation unscathed except for a little scar underneath her hairline.. It was a miracle.

  23. Oh, my fingers are searching every crack and crevice. Dust creeping in under fingernails. Plumes of oldness and neglect puffing themselves out into my face. Where is it? This is the true definition of miracle: to find something so small and yet so desperately sought after. I need my keys.

  24. The fact that two peoples’ lives overlap in such a way that they become close and are able to change each others’ lives is a miracle. You never think about how close you came to not meeting that person. You never think about what you would be like without those people who are miracles to you, because they are so much a part of your life.
If I had never met the friends I have now…how would I be different?
    I don’t think I would be happier.
I think I would be more lonely.
I can’t be afraid of the future and I can’t be afraid of change, because it’s most likely that the people I meet, the people who become my new miracles, will only make my life so much better.

  25. Miracle? The universe seems like a miracle.
7 billion people living on one planet seems pretty miraculous.
And falling in love with only one man

    That’s my miracle.

  29. lazarus woke up and there were worms. beside him, atop him, under him. inside him. they were wriggling, and it was horrible. they were alive, and..

so was he? how disconcerting. he stayed calm, kept his heart under fifty beats per minute; he was also deliriously happy.

getting out was a problem, of course, but not too much. he could take his time. he will, eventually.

and he did, after a while passed. how? it was not important. only that it was dutiful work, a kinder way of saying laborious, tedious. it was also worth it.

he procured some clothes, ones with less holes in them, ones thick with city-dirt and not ground-dirt. it was not difficult, since he knew where to look.

then he started walking home. thankfully, the alive smell  began to mask the dead smell. he could stop by a department store and get sprayed free perfume samples on his wrists, he could, but perhaps that would be too suspicious.

he reached his house – where he used to live, but it was still his house – and stopped at the porch. he was about to ring the bell when he thought, hector should be eating dinner by now. how does hector eat dinner without me?

he only wanted to peek, see what it was like. no one could, would blame him. especially for being deceased, for a little bit at least.

he walked around until he reached a window, leaned close and looked inside. he subsequently broke his own heart.

hector was eating mashed potatoes, mixed with hot sauce the way he liked it. he still gripped his fork like he would a pencil, and again he had missed another button on his shirt. it was all right, except it was not.

hector was not alone. hector was having dinner with someone else. someone else did not look like lazarus, he was not lazarus. someone else stole kisses in between bites and lazarus would got confused, like, those are mine, those are hector’s lips, and they are mine, too.

except… not anymore? hector erased the taste of his rotten mouth and replaced it with someone sweeter. why was he surprised?

he stared at the food they were eating. he had wanted to eat, but now more than anything he wished he had something else to vomit besides dirt and worms. those goddamn worms.

if only he could crawl back into his hole and sink his teeth into grass again. he missed his worms, but they would not welcome him any longer. they liked the dead and hector liked the living and how lucky for him, to be stuck in between.

  30. It would be a miracle if Jennifer ever got out of the rubble. Her legs were covered with sharp rocks from the walls and her back had numerous wooden plinths across it.

  31. You are a miracle, the way veins decorate your hands and legs, fading and rising like the white moon, you are a miracle. The way loneliness consumes you, spits you back out, battles between miracles and tragedies.

    Maysa
  32. the miracle in my life has always been myself.

  33. It’s a miracle that we’re even alive. I hear all the talk about God, gods, or the absence of one, but I pay no attention to all of it. I just think of how out of a single cell that decided to live billions of years ago, we all came from it. We are all miracles from billions of years of miracles.

    JPHuber
  34. I once saw a miracle:
    the sunshine stepped
    over the clouds
and reached out a friendly hand
    in the bitter of winter
    in the harsh winds blowing.
he walked forward to kiss my face,
and then I followed his feet
in the shadows of the day–
    just living shadow walking forward
    into overpowering light
and then the cold fell away
and I stood there in the light of day

    Amara
  36. Miracles are something that happens every now and then in the world. They happen so very rarely that they are even called miracles.

  37. You. You are a miracle. A miracle that happened to me.

  38. It was a miracle that I made it this far without looking back. I’ve hesitated, stumbled, gotten lost. But I keep moving towards my goal because without my goal to strive for, what will I do? Life is nothing if we have no goals to live for.
