The parade of the animals started off with the smallest animals – the hamsters, spiders, snakes – and was followed by the medium-sized animals such as dogs and cats. The larger animals included the apes and humans, followed by the elephants.

The sounds of the parade were deafening, the cacophony of people yelling, laughing, instruments blaring, speakers playing 4 different songs- it was a lot. Lucas did his best to work through the noises and the throng of people, as he was losing his target. The bright colors all around did little to hep him keep track of the blue baseball cap bobbing through the crowd, just slick enough to maneuver the ebb and flow of the crowds.
They had split down the middle, a raging crowd as turbulent as the sea, only now heeding commands to heckle the one being paraded through. Guards with metal grasps held their chins high as if honor had befallen them.
