Juan Son, a mexican singer from the indie band Porter. I love his style and his music, he has an amazing voice. I like his duet with Julieta Venegas, and his renditions from Caifanes and Los Tres, ‘Ayer Me Dijo un Ave’ and ‘Dejate Caer’, respectively. He’s really talented.

I entered the hotel and looked, as casually as I could, at the porter. He was a small, stout man, and he returned my gaze with the same carefree nature that I gave him.

A porter work is never easy., it strains his back and yet he has to smile each time he carrries the luggage. Given every opportunity to change he will indeed prefer to be the doorman, sometimes… though some do actually enjoy for the sheer pleasure of building relationship and sharing a word or two.

I guess a porter is involved in transport. Like moving things.
Not the best word today. I was expecting something better.
Oh well.

porter, as in hospital porter, as in personal that cleans up sick and mops the floor?
I think that’s what it means anyway.
In Being Human the vampire was a hospital porter, I can’t remember his name, but I remember what he looks like.

The porter; a man that carries your stuff. You’ll find him at train stations in abundance in India, wearing a red ‘kurta’ (which is sort of like a tunic) and white “dhoti” (sort of like a cloth wrapped around like a skirt). They’re strong, bronzed and tough! They work so hard for a living…and still we crib and haggle.
They carry suitcases – heavy ones at that, on their heads and don’t complain. They’ve got balance and armstrength and what not. And all it probably costs is a measly Rs.50…that’s less than a dollar per bag. Sad, isn’t it? All that effort wasted.

“What’s a porter?” a kid asked.
I looked around the pier. A kid was all alone and was asking me what’s a porter.
“Well, little kiddo, I’ll tell you if you let me pass and let me get to my ship. I’m going to be late,” I answered.
porter is a labourer who carries luggage around in train stations. he wears usually a red dress, in india and has a towel to support the weight on his head. he usually knows the shortest route to the platform
