  1. He’s hurting. He’s never felt so hurt before. Thankfully she’s there to comfort him. Though not exactly the one who he’d like to comfort him, she’s already gone, but she will do. She props him up on her shoulder, her arm winding around his back. She’s waited for forever to be the one to help him, to lift him up when he needed it. This is her chance to, she’s hoping she doesn’t mess it up.

  2. Comedy is more than a trade, it is an art. To bring a smile to someone’s face, to get a laugh- it’s a beautiful thing. Makes the world a little brighter, I think. And in times like these, that’s what we need most…
I use props, myself. Whatever I see, perhaps a newspaper, or a flower, I must find a way to make it into an instrument of joy. Any item could be used to make someone laugh. All it takes is a little creativity, and you could find a quality to poke fun at.
But sometimes you’d have to stoop to some self-depreciating humor with some items. Like rotten tomatoes. The crowd might laugh if one is splattered on you. But hey, you made them laugh…

The sun was rising behind the trees, birds were calling to each other from the shadows. The leaves on the wet grass looked like shards of broken glass reflecting the light.

  7. The props were placed on the side table, ready for their big moment. None of them knew which order they would be called upon, but they waited with anticipation. Could this be the break they were waiting for?

  9. Props
When i think of this word
    I think about the Theater
    And peoples lives
How we all are just props
    In one big play
    Adventures and more
If we are all just props
    Let us be our own
Not controlled by others in our play
    To be free
Let us be our OWN props i
    In our OWN play

  13. Props. The word brings me back to my highschool drama days. As I write this I think how cliched that sounds. What do most people think of when they see the word “props”? You could think of it in the context of ‘to prop’, but that’s so abstract. Humans like to attach emotion to things. That’s probably why I immediately thought of highschool drama. I have good memories of those years. It means something to me.

  14. Stifled, the edge of the sword, sheathed
A look in his eye of boulders blasted
And walking into the post office
The weapon pulled out, stung into his stomach
The plastic slides into the handle, into its self
The audience, tickets, cheques and coin in hand
    Their eyes shattered stones
    His face, a hammer’s smile

  15. We propped ourselves upon each other
It was a foolish idea, in retrospect
    It’s impossible to support another
if you cannot stand on your own
    But that didn’t stop us
We leaned on each others shoulders
Until we both fell onto the tiles beneath our toes
    Laughing all the way down

  16. Well, we used them in the musical. Most of them were clovers, for Hoton the elphant. You see he manged to break a shit load of them. Or other people did. I’m not sure. But we weren’t allowed to touch other peoples props. That must be why so many of them are broken. I met a nice girl, in the grade above me who was on the props team. She liked Jenna Marbles, like me. Oh, and Quinn from Glee thinks or rather wants Rachel to think she’s a prop.

And then when there’s a play, they clap their hands and say “props to you!” but I mean, seriously what would life be without props- probably empty. What would we be if we were empty? No props, no accessories, nada. Nothing, really. Props without the ‘s’ is prop which is a palindrome.
