  1. Rules bring about meaning, they tie together the chaos; order in madness. But can I ever live by the rules that wish to break me free, to give me a life worthwhile?

Dancing through a field of roses

  2. I see rules as more as suggestions or guidelines rather than something set in stone. There are so many rules in today’s society and they keep getting more ridiculous. People may mean well but they’re stripping away our rights and taking enjoyment out of life.

  3. I’ve been told there are rules for these types of things. We’ve broken them. I’ve been told certain things must be said and done at certain times. We’ve taken matters into our own hands. I’ve been told that you’ll never expect it but if you try you never know who you might meet. It was true.

  4. Full of hate and loath, but in the end necessary for every being. This and that, restrictions. Sometimes given with hate, sometimes with love. No one understands but the one who gives it. It’s the direction that is needed for a person to act, whether they like it or not, that mere existence of rules is what creates every creative person.

  5. Rulers help you measure things. Or they lead a country, a kingdom, an empire, something. It could be either one of the two. If rules are made by rulers, are centimetres the same thing as laws?

“Okay, le’t do this by the rules, people. Get him up!” the voice commanded.

  10. She played by the rules
    and colored in every line
    so no one would notice
    her complete lack of spine.

  11. Rules and regulations (brule’s rules, but anyway) are for the lost and weary. Those tired of themselves, that have lost the hope in their own inner power, their free will.

    Maddie Mori
  12. are made to be broken

  13. i hate rules. unless they save peoples lives. rules are stupid because they put restrictions on life. People should never have restrictions on their life. unless of course it could harm someone else which is usually not the xase… rules are stupid.. i

  16. Those were the rules. Those that did not follow them, died. Those that did, lived
It wasn’t much of a life, but it was still living. There had been many who fought for change, but they broke the rules. They were slaves. That meant that they could gain their own freedom, but that was it. They weren’t slaves. They could do things for themselves, but that was it. There were no rules here, only unspoken laws, and it didn’t make sense, but everyone knew that. There were unspoken laws, rules, thoughts, beliefs. Only a fool would defy them.

  17. Rule to every rule there is an exception. Rules are here for a reason. without them imagian the out of controled world we woul have. Then again maybe it’s because of our rules our world is so messed up.

  18. Rules are put in place by one who rules to keep their people in order. Without rules, what would keep anyone from killing that guy everyone hates or stealing that car from that rich guy who always brags?

  19. “He’s not that sort of person,” she retorted. “Don’t try to make him play by your arbitrary rules, Jennifer, because it won’t work. Not for a man of principle.”

  20. There are certain rules of life. Then each person has their own rules. Mine? Very simple. Stick to yourself, don’t let anyone to close, move on before you can get hurt. You? You’re breaking all those rules, and I”m not sure whether I love it, or hate it.

He, however, disregarded even the most basic, common sense rules of friendship, and he would get mad if she didn’t come to visit, or didn’t tell him everything that had happened detail by detail since the last time he saw her….but never did he admit anything openly…

  23. Rules are boundaries laid before all, stiches in a person side, holding them back from doing what they want to do the most. Follow the rules and you won’t get hurt, disobey the rules and you take a leap in a dangerous place where everything is fair game and you will get hurt and you will suffer but maybe suffer passionately?

  24. Fuck rules. Did I just break a rule. Doesn’t matter. Should not. I choose to live free. That without doubt rules out the whole idea of a rule. I make my own rules. when I feel discomfort I must lean not leave…I must not escape..I must embrace..and when i have left over pizza I must drizzle it with hot sauce.

  25. Who decides the rules? One elite group of people over another,
how do they know what’s best for everyone?
Obviously, more people should be inclined to discuss this,
after all this is how America is ran… but the sheeple don’t care.

There’s an elite group to dictate what words are deemed allowable on TV,
in the media, in the news, on the streets… so much for first amendment.
There’s an elite group dictating where the money goes.
There’s an elite group sending teenagers to a war that isn’t their quarrel.
    We have protestors peacefully protesting,
and there’s a group pepper spraying them and hauling them away,
    all for what?
For rules that one small group of people made.
Since when has vacating an area peacefully ever caused an issue?
Oh yeah, when it’s people trying to fight off the rules in place by an elite set of other people.
Rules are there to control people,
Because one small sector of people have the power to control.
    Think for yourselves.
    Some rules should be broken.
After all, people are imperfect, and people just want to control people.

I knew she would never forgive me for this and our friendship would end but I didn’t care. I knew that the boy who was kissing me had no interest in me but I didn’t care, no way. Because breaking the rules felt so, so very right. That’s why I didn’t care.

    1. Don’t attack unless the other man is facing you.

    2. Don’t use any foul language.

    3. Don’t seek any help from outside sources, be it people or objects.

    4. Do beat the shit out of him, to the best of your ability.

  31. rules bending on the side of the road. they look trembling with roar, i stomp on the head of their nose. bleeding noses gush. take a wiff. the rain boos at the rules. confined inside the wet house. no ovaries here for me to suculate. just another memory of time to merry and waste.

  32. rules were meant to be shattered, they were also placed to protect people’s person’s. broken rules equal broken hearts that no one or thing can heal.

    Jon
  33. rules were ment to be broken but put in place for a reason. your heart doesn’t want to listen to rules or constraints but those rules and constraints were placed to protect. hurt is a double ended sward, you stab someone else but you are stabbing yourself at the same time.

    Jon MIller
  34. Rules are meant to be broken. If everyone followed the rules, think how boring our lives would be. Although, yes some rules have to be followed for the well-being of the whole world, but other harmless and silly rules should be broken. After all what’s the point of them being there, if everyone follows them. Then they would be common courtesy in everyday life, not rules. Rules are more of guidelines to a “proper” life. Who are they to tell you what a “proper” life is. If your whole life is kept in a bubble, where’s the fun in that?

  35. Rules again? I got the same word before! and like i said rules are awesome! they should always be followed because it keeps a society up and running on a daily basis. but there are always those exceptional cases when one can do otherwise.

    Emma Grace
