I was sentenced to die at the age of 21. It happened 3 months after my birthday, as I had been tried and convicted of murdering a stranger in a bar. Ironically, the night at that bar was my birthday gift given to me by my older brother.

People are oftened sentenced to belong to a specific group or category before the other person even tried to get to know them. I say sentenced because far too often people are judged wrongly, but even if you were sentenced wrong the image of that impression stay and won’t go away. Unless you’re lucky and get a second chance.

The man stood in the dock. he was going to be sentenced today and he felt sad. Not a single member of his family was in the court. They had abandoned him just as he was being sentenced to 30 years in prison. How could things get any worse than this moment in time? He cried.
