The person was startled by the sight. Never in his life had he seen something so grotesque. It inched closer to him, dragging it’s broken legs behind it. He glimpsed a look of its face and took a loud gasp at its shocking appearance.
I dont’ think I’ve ever been startled at anything. Because that ain’t what I do. I just stare at stuff. COol people stare at stuff and say ‘no shit!’. They do. In Pulp Fiction, Vincent wasn’t startled when Zed aimed the gun at him. He’s cool like that.

She opened the door and was suddenly greeted by Roger. “Oh my gosh, you scared the crap out of me.”
“Sorry,” he said. “Didn’t mean to scare you. Just wanted to say hello.” He hugged her tightly and she smiled, happy to see him after a long, drawn-out day.
I was starltled the other day when a bat flew infront of me, I was also startled when I got a surprise visit from my aunt and uncle because they live in a seperate state than me. I dont know what to type now so im typing randomly.

I was startled when I noticed that my leg was stuck in hole that wasn’t there a moment before. I sure hope there aren’t any more around.

Light glinted off of the wild eyes. Pictures, images, all moved with streaming grace around them. Music was being played intensely. This was not a moment for grins, for someone was about to be found a spy. Someone’s love was about to be double crossed. The train station was about to collapse. Who could possibly save the moment from disaster?
One time I got really startled when my friend snuck up on me when wewere watching a scary movie. We were sitting on the couch and then she got up to get some popcorn, then she snuck up behind me and whispered, “Hello my sweet.” I literally jumped out of my seat.
Being startled isn’t something I like to encounter. It’s like the heart stops for one horrifying beat, before starting to race. Mere moments and seconds where the body is getting ready to either run away or refrain still. And then, most of te time, it turns out that your body completely overreacted.
writing randomly because the thing told me to and i’m in class and i’m not going to punctuate worth a damn cuz i can or cannot something something something poetry something something complete. oops there’s a period. I jumped, nearly out of my skin, and turned quickly to gaze at a now giggling Mary. “Sssorry,” she said, clutching her sides dramatically as she nearly dropped to the floor with the ferocity of her laughter. “I d-didn’t mean to ssstartle you,” I rolled my eyes. “Sure you didn’t,” I muttered.
The bag moved. She let out a scream, and ran. The job she was on was supposed to be a stiff, why was it moving? Maybe an animal, she reasoned in her head. But how would an animal get into a completely sealed bag? There were no signs that it opened or ripped the bag. She put on her gloves, and moved towards the bag. She didn’t need back up. Not this time.

Breaks up the monotony of normal, every day life by catching you off guard in one way or another.

The attaché was in hand, covered by the coat he should have been wearing as he stepped into the cool, late autumn evening. He was startled by the suddenly percussive, overlaid flapping and cooing of the pigeons directly outside the firm’s doors. The birds rose into the setting sunlight over the downtown skyline as he slid to his knees; only now aware of the bullet hole in his chest and the red stain spreading across his starched, white oxford.
He flung his head up, eyes showing white as the bush broke in the gale and flew towards him. Ears flattened, the horse backed up, even as his rider urged him forward, and snorted uneasily, prancing, half rearing. The girl on his back fought for control, fought to stay in the saddle against the rising storm. It wouldn’t be long now.
I haven’t been startled in awhile. I did scare the shit out of Ryan yesterday. It wasn’t as good as I expected but no worries. His day will come. That’s all I got, next question?

We were running through the hedges, I could hear the sounds of rustling and laughing all around me. All of a I sudden I looked up and saw a face which, I started laughing, I realised it was just a lamb.
A scream escaped her lips as she staggered back. Her hands clung to the white wall behind her. Her breathing was hitched coming in short fast breaths. Her brown eyes stayed fixed on the creature in front of her.

the hair on the back of my neck has risen like the sun after a long day’s night and i am breathing in cycles of fast-fast-fast and slow-slow-slow. i am not as okay as my pinky promises and nods. i am falling.

Her breath catches in her chest. She readies her weapon and stares into the brush. She heard it. She knows she heard it. But what is it? It could be anything. Any brand of nightmare, any type of monster, ready to tear her apart, to rip her open, to paint the ground with her blood.
You write with the breeze, and jump with ease. Being scared is something you’ve grown accustomed to. The act of being startled is a welcomed one. One that awakes you to your core and makes you thankful and overjoyed.
He saw why they called her Bambi the first time he caught her engrossed in work. At the call of her name–her real one, that is–and a tap of the shoulder, she flinched, wrenching her head up from her stack of crinkled paper with eyes literally as wide as saucers. ‘Startled’ was not a dramatic enough word to describe it.
scared, afraid, stateled at life, startled not knowing what to do , afraid

She looked around, startled. What was that noise that she had just heard? She took in a deep breath, steadying her heart rate.
After all, she was walking through a forest in the middle of the night. It was perfect horror movie fodder. She just hoped that she wasn’t going to be killed or something.
She started moving faster as the rustling continued.
Finally. The source of the noise appeared. It was a wolf. And it looked very contented to see her.
A beginning, jumping to conclusions, jumping out of my skin, butterflies in my stomach where there was peace a moment ago. What gives? Random chemistry coursing through my body.
She startled to the ground, she didn’t know what to do; Alex was inches away from her face, yet she was frozen in surprise and confusion. She wanted to punch him. Instead, all she could do was stare

I startled when I look at this site. It’s kind of creative and good to see such sites hosted.
I’m wondering what makes this site to run in terms of revenue.
