  1. life with him was odd, strangely isolated; he was never quite there, but he could always reach her if she wanted to. she felt like she was always walking on stilts, balancing here and there to make sure she didn’t upset him or the status quo too much, and it was all she could to hold on and not fall completely apart.

  2. Stilts are pretty interesting when you think about it- no sorry that’s a terrible way to start this off. I mean stilts are interesting in the way that they are able to cast an illusion. either with magic or simply by implementing them to some stranger person, they can be used to deceive. Even as something as miniscule as height.

  3. Is this what it felt like? With the support from my friends, my true friends, I felt I could reach high enough to conquer myself and be what I wanted to be… Not just another failure like in the past.

  4. how amazing it would be for a short-height person like me to stand above the crowd and watch everything with sheer content! wish it were a permanent part of my life. stilts do fulfill my wish, but only for a limited time ’cause it’s impossible to sit with stilts. will have to rejoice while standing itself!

  8. Men on stilts and banners of hand-spun silk surrounded the square and the exteriors interior was filled to the bursting with brightly-colored patrons and performers alike. The sky was bright and clear, not a cloud in sight, and the scent of fresh apple pastries and berry-based ale tinted the air with their honeyed fragrance. As always, children’s laughter could be heard in every corner; the Summer Festival was always a happy time, first and foremost. Even more so this year for, at the center of it all sat the princess herself, the beautiful Lauranna.
And, not that either of us knew it at the time, this was also the year we fell in love.

  9. I don’t know what that means. But i think its got something to do about paper-like cuts in objects. Oh yeah that is silts. Whatever.

  10. We’re walking on stilts
    careful now
    through the calamity
    that is
    you
    silently as the apostles grow
    and your waters seep
    deeper
    into
    the water table of
    bricks, cannonballers and unbeaten wounds.
    But, love,
    meter high stilts can’t prepare
    for
    that unopened letter
    with that unopened diagnosis.

  14. the house sat high on rickety stilts as the waves crashed thunderously against the shore. With each pounding splash, she shuddered into him. Huddled into the cold darkness of their living room, the power out, the blanket doing little to keep them warm, they each said nothing, but silently prayed.

  15. Walking tall through the crowd was the one thing I was scared of the whole time. Seeing the giant stained with the blood of those who crossed his path.

  16. i always wondered what it would be like to be walking on stilts.
although i’m still kind of afraid of heights, i think it would be fun to walk on stilts.
and also, another thing hits me.
how do you get on those stilts, and how to you get off of them in case of an emergency?
i mean, what if you need to go to the bathroom REALLY bad?

  17. Stilts make you taller, which I like because I’m short. Being short is no fun at all. You miss things and can’t always see what’s going on around you. Stilts are usually really tall though. I think they could make some 6 inch stilts that just give me six more inches so that I can see what tall people see and not get lost in the crowd. That would be awesome.

  25. I feel like I’m on the top of the world, but you know, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. I guess that’s kind of a bad thing as well. So do I take the good with the bad, or the bad with the good? Life is all about perception. That upsets me. You know, life is weird.

  33. I’d like to wear stilts, go walking through the town, nodding hello to my neighbors, who peak sheepishly and confused out of their upstairs windows. I’d like to take them off, realize that I’m actually quite small, and understand that me and my problems are not the only things that matter in the world.

  34. Standing up on the tree is like being on stilts. Looking down I can see a panorama, the details of the village spread out as if drawn on a map. Groups of people are gathering in the valley pointing up at me, I feel as if I can fly away from these ants and their insignificant lives. One step will take me over the mountains and away. The evening sky is pink and warm. The lights of the town below are coming on like pearls strung in a necklace, their cold light softened by the thickening mist.

  35. I would like to be tall enough to not have to wear stilts. That would be nice, then I could quit with all of the too-tall-heals and get straight to the point. Stilts are cool. Yay stilts. STILTS. I’m tired.

  38. There was once a man who was very short. He was in a shop one day and he saw a pair of stilts. He decided to buy them. When he put them on, he not only was no longer short, but he towered above the other people. He could see things he wasn’t able to see when he was at the shorter viewpoint. It was quite frightening to see peoples secrets in such a way, he decided to burn his stilts and being short was nice.

  40. You were a wonderful clown going through this unsightly town. You lit up the world like nothing else when you were up on those stilts. You could be on top of the world from up there. That’s something I would never be from this ground below. I applaud you, clown. Even though no one sees it other than you,you control the world.
